TLDR
In this paper, the authors provide evidence that intelligence has pervasive utility in work settings because it is essentially the ability to deal with cognitive complexity, in particular, with complex information processing, and the more complex a work task, the greater the advantages that higher g confers in performing it well.

Expert performance in SCRABBLE: implications for the study of the structure and acquisition of complex skills.

TL;DR: A study of expert cognitive skill in which elements from two historically distinct research paradigms are incorporated -- the individual differences tradition and the expert-performance approach reveals that SCRABBLE players can acquire some of the knowledge necessary for success at the highest levels of competition by engaging in activities deliberately designed to maximize adaptation to SCRA BBLE-specific task constraints.

A role for the X chromosome in sex differences in variability in general intelligence

TL;DR: The expected ratios of males to females at various points in the distribution are explored and the proportion of variance in general intelligence potentially due to genes on the X chromosome is estimated, providing clues to the extent to which biologically based sex differences could be manifested in the environment as sex differences in displayed intellectual abilities.

"Old dogs" and new skills: how clinician characteristics relate to motivational interviewing skills before, during, and after training.

TL;DR: Baseline MI skill levels were the most robust predictors of pre- and post-supervision performances and clinician attributes influence the effectiveness of methods used to promote the acquisition of evidence-based practices among community-based practitioners.
