Search for lepton-flavour-violating decays of the Higgs boson

Vardan Khachatryan, +2157 more
- 07 Oct 2015 -
TL;DR: The first direct search for lepton-flavour-violating decays of the recently discovered Higgs boson (H) is described in this paper, where the search is performed in the H→μτ_e and H→mτ_h channels, where τeτe and τ_h are tau leptons reconstructed in the electronic and hadronic decay channels, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Observation of sequential Υ suppression in PbPb collisions

S. Chatrchyan, +2268 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the suppression of individual nS states in PbPb collisions with respect to their yields in pp data has been measured, and the results demonstrate the sequential suppression of the Υ(nS) states from the dimuon invariant mass spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI

Searches for long-lived charged particles in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 and 8 TeV

S. Chatrchyan, +2270 more
TL;DR: In this article, results of searches for heavy stable charged particles produced in pp collisions at 7 and 8 TeV are presented corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 and 18.8 inverse femtobarns, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of photon reconstruction and identification with the CMS detector in proton-proton collisions at √s = 8 TeV

Vardan Khachatryan, +2207 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of the Cern LHC detector for photon reconstruction and identification in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV at the CERN LHC is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extraction and validation of a new set of CMS pythia8 tunes from underlying-event measurements

Albert M. Sirunyan, +2251 more
TL;DR: For the first time, predictions from pythia8 obtained with tunes based on NLO or NNLO PDFs are shown to reliably describe minimum-bias and underlying-event data with a similar level of agreement to predictions from tunes using LO PDF sets.
