The risk of impending preterm delivery in asymptomatic patients with a nonmeasurable cervical length in the second trimester
Edi Vaisbuch,Edi Vaisbuch,Roberto Romero,Roberto Romero,Shali Mazaki-Tovi,Shali Mazaki-Tovi,Offer Erez,Offer Erez,Juan Pedro Kusanovic,Juan Pedro Kusanovic,Pooja Mittal,Pooja Mittal,Francesca Gotsch,Clara Ward,Vivian Romero,Tinnakorn Chaiworapongsa,Tinnakorn Chaiworapongsa,Percy Pacora,Lami Yeo,Lami Yeo,Sonia S. Hassan,Sonia S. Hassan +21 more
TL;DR: Asymptomatic women with a nonmeasurable cervix in the second trimester have a median diagnosis-to-delivery interval of approximately 3 weeks, but almost 65% of these patients will not deliver within 2 weeks, yet 75% of them will deliver before 32 weeks of gestation.
Book ChapterDOI
Fetal skeletal anomalies
TL;DR: In this article, the birth prevalence and classification of skeletal dysplasias are reviewed and an approach to the diagnosis of conditions identifiable at birth is provided. But, the diagnosis is a particularly challenging task.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of bone morphogenetic protein 2 in normal spontaneous labor at term, preterm labor, and preterm premature rupture of membranes.
Gi Jin Kim,Roberto Romero,Helena Kuivaniemi,Gerard Tromp,Ramsi Haddad,Yeon Mee Kim,Mi Ran Kim,Jyh Kae Nien,Joon-Seok Hong,Jimmy Espinoza,Jimmy Espinoza,Joaquin Santolaya,Joaquin Santolaya,Bo Hyun Yoon,Moshe Mazor,Chong Jai Kim +15 more
TL;DR: Bone morphogenetic protein 2 messenger RNA and protein expression are increased in the chorioamniotic membranes of patients with spontaneous labor at term and patients with preterm labor associated with histologic chorioamsionitis, which strongly suggest that bone morphogenetics protein 2 is involved in human parturition.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vivo T-cell activation by a monoclonal αCD3ε antibody induces preterm labor and birth
Nardhy Gomez-Lopez,Nardhy Gomez-Lopez,Roberto Romero,Marcia Arenas-Hernandez,Marcia Arenas-Hernandez,Marcia Arenas-Hernandez,Hyunyoung Ahn,Hyunyoung Ahn,Bogdan Panaitescu,Bogdan Panaitescu,Felipe Vadillo-Ortega,Carmen Sánchez-Torres,Katherine S. Salisbury,Sonia S. Hassan,Sonia S. Hassan +14 more
TL;DR: Whether in vivo T‐cell activation by a monoclonal αCD3ε antibody induces preterm labor and birth is determined.
Journal Article
Prenatal diagnosis of duodenal atresia: does it make any difference?
TL;DR: The outcome of infants with duodenal atresia diagnosed antenatally is compared with that of infants diagnosed after birth, where the incidence of neonatal morbidity was higher and preoperative conditions were poorer in the second group.
