01 Nov 2006TL;DR: An original method of contact less biometric recognition combining information from color, texture and form is proposed, which amalgamates by convolution the geometrical characteristics of the fingers and the texture of the analyzed palm.
Abstract: The hand recognition in biometric security was developed successfully for authentication or identification In this paper, we propose an original method of contact less biometric recognition combining information from color, texture and form First of all, the segmentation integrates the skin color components and a form model Then, the authentication process amalgamates by convolution the geometrical characteristics of the fingers and the texture of the analyzed palm The experimental results show an error recognition rate lower than 2% within a population of 16 people

TL;DR: In this article, three MQW electroabsorption modulator structures made of 7, 13 and 20 wells are reported, and the bandwidth is shown to increase linearly with intrinsic region thickness up to 40 GHz, with negligible penalty on the drive voltage.
Abstract: Three MQW electroabsorption modulator structures made of 7, 13 and 20 wells are reported. The bandwidth is shown to increase linearly with intrinsic region thickness up to 40 GHz, with negligible penalty on the drive voltage which remains at less than 2 V. It is suggested that 100 GHz bandwidth should be reached with low drive voltage.

13 Mar 2000TL;DR: In this paper, a new method for the MOSFET parameter extraction including second order mobility attenuation is proposed, which remains compatible with previously existing ones avoiding second order derivative procedure and therefore to be applicable for in line parametric test extraction in the microelectronics industry.
Abstract: A new method for the MOSFET parameter extraction including second order mobility attenuation is proposed. The advantage of the method is to remain compatible with previously existing ones avoiding second order derivative procedure and therefore to be applicable for in line parametric test extraction in the microelectronics industry.

23 Sep 2009TL;DR: In this paper, a system, method, device and interface for classifying content is presented, providing a plurality of reaction indicators, receiving a user selection of one of the plurality of reactions, and associating the user selected reaction indication with a portion of the content being rendered at the time of receiving the user selection.
Abstract: A system, method, device and interface for classifying content. The system, method, device and interface provide for rendering content, providing to a user a plurality of reaction indicators, receiving a user selection of one of the plurality of reaction indications, and associating the user selected reaction indication with a portion of the content that is being rendered at the time of receiving the user selection.

22 Sep 1995TL;DR: In this article, an optoelectronic device consisting of at least one mode adapter (T), one optical amplifier (OA), one filter (MUX) capable of separating different wavelengths of the signal, at least photodetector (D) and at least guide (G) ensuring the link between the above-mentioned elements is described.
Abstract: This invention concerns an optoelectronic device, characterized in that it comprises, integrated by deposition in a single epitaxy on a semi-insulating substrate: at least one mode adapter (T), at least one optical amplifier (OA), at least one filter (MUX) capable of separating different wavelengths of the signal, at least one photodetector (D) and at least one guide (G) ensuring the link between the above-mentioned elements.
