18 Jun 2007TL;DR: The FAUST chip integrates a baseband processing architecture in which communications between IPs are supported by an asynchronous network-on-chip (NoC) structure that facilitates physical implementation and power management.
Abstract: The FAUST chip integrates a baseband processing architecture in which communications between IPs are supported by an asynchronous network-on-chip (NoC). This distributed and modular structure facilitates physical implementation and power management. A 20-node NoC is implemented in 79.5mm2 using 0.13mum 6M CMOS to address 100Mb/s telecom systems

16 Dec 2003TL;DR: In this article, the symbols to be transmitted are pre-encoded with a particular linear preencoding matrix then coded according to space-time block coding so as to benefit to the full from temporal and spatial diversities allowing at reception for particularly easy and efficient linear decoding.
Abstract: The invention lies within the field of wireless communications systems with several transmitting antennas, corresponding to MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) systems or to MISO (Multiple Input Single Output) systems. According to the invention, the symbols to be transmitted are pre-encoded with a particular linear pre-encoding matrix then coded according to space-time block coding so as to benefit to the full from temporal and spatial diversities allowing at reception for particularly easy and efficient linear decoding.

01 Jun 2004TL;DR: This paper gives performance bounds for both elastic and streaming traffic by means of sample-path arguments, and presents the practical interest of being insensitive to traffic characteristics like the distributions of elastic flow size and streaming flow duration.
Abstract: We consider a network model where bandwidth is fairly shared by a dynamic number of elastic and adaptive streaming flows. Elastic flows correspond to data transfers while adaptive streaming flows correspond to audio/video applications with variable rate codecs. In particular, the former are characterized by a fixed size (in bits) while the latter are characterized by a fixed duration. This flow-level model turns out to be intractable in general. In this paper, we give performance bounds for both elastic and streaming traffic by means of sample-path arguments. These bounds present the practical interest of being insensitive to traffic characteristics like the distributions of elastic flow size and streaming flow duration.

TL;DR: In this article, a full-wave global analysis of complex inhomogeneous microwave structures including passive or active, linear or nonlinear lumped elements is presented, using a 3D finite element method using edge elements.
Abstract: A new fullwave global analysis of complex inhomogeneous microwave structures including passive or active, linear or nonlinear lumped elements is presented. For a given structure, only one electromagnetic simulation of the distributed part, by a three-dimensional (3-D) finite element method using edge elements, is needed corresponding to the insertion of variable lumped elements placed at the same position. Simulation results of various test cases, containing either resistor, diode, or active component, are compared with those provided by a commercial circuit analysis software or with measurements results. Our validated electromagnetic simulator is then used for analyzing a planar balanced mixer operating in the millimetric range.
