TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a systematic review of MCDM techniques in transportation systems problems and classify papers into 10 main application areas and nine transport infrastructure, based on the author(s) and year, technique and approach, author's nationality, application area and scope, study purpose, gap and research problem and results and outcome.
Abstract: The main goal of this review paper is to provide a systematic review of Multiple Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) techniques in regard to transportation systems problems. This study reviewed a total of 89 papers, published from 1993 to 2015, from 39 high-ranking journals; most of which were related to transportation science and were extracted from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Papers were classified into 10 main application areas and nine transport infrastructure. Furthermore, papers were categorized based on the author(s) and year, name of the journal in which they were published, technique and approach, author(s) nationality, application area and scope, study purpose, gap and research problem and results and outcome. The results of this study indicated that more papers on MCDM in 2013 than in any other year. AHP and Fuzzy-AHP methods in the individual methods and hybrid MCDM and fuzzy MCDM in the integrated methods were ranked as the first and second methods in use, respectively. The T...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a review on the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) as an indicator used to track the performance of energy consumption in a building and other related indicators for measuring energy consumption performance of buildings.
Abstract: Accurate forecasting of energy consumption in a building is an important strategy in achieving the goal of reducing energy demand, as well as to improve energy efficiency. To implement this strategy, many methods and indicators have been proposed to monitor and measure energy performance in buildings. However, various factors that influence energy consumption of a building system operation, such as the types of activities carried out in the building, weather conditions, building materials, HVAC system and occupancy; contribute to the difficulty in accurately measuring a building׳s energy system. This paper provides a review on the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) as an indicator used to track the performance of energy consumption in a building. Previous research works concerning this index and relevant mathematical models are also introduced. Other related methods or indicators for measuring energy consumption performance of buildings will also be presented.

TL;DR: A hybrid method of support vector machine and genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed and its implementation in intrusion detection problem is explained and the results reveal that the proposed hybrid algorithm is capable of achieving a true-positive value of 0.973, while the false- positive value is 0.017.
Abstract: In this paper, a hybrid method of support vector machine and genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed and its implementation in intrusion detection problem is explained. The proposed hybrid algorithm is employed in reducing the number of features from 45 to 10. The features are categorized into three priorities using GA algorithm as the highest important is the first priority and the lowest important is placed in the third priority. The feature distribution is done in a way that 4 features are placed in the first priority, 4 features in the second, and 2 features in the third priority. The results reveal that the proposed hybrid algorithm is capable of achieving a true-positive value of 0.973, while the false-positive value is 0.017.
