An experimental study on the photometrical impacts of several current waveforms on power white LEDs
TL;DR: This work focuses on studying the impacts that several high and low frequency current waveforms commonly found on power electronic drivers may have on the photometrical and colorimetrical performance of the LEDs themselves.
Journal ArticleDOI
Daylight Sensing LED Lighting System
TL;DR: This paper presents a daylight sensing luminaire prototype and considers two driving protocols for sensing and illumination, and proposes LED luminaires that can perform the dual function of illumination and daylight sensing, obviating the need of additional photodetectors.

Effect of light-emitting diode vs. fluorescent lighting on laying hens in aviary hen houses: Part 1 – Operational characteristics of lights and production traits of hens
TL;DR: Evaluating the effects of LED vs. fluorescent (FL) lights on laying hens using 4 aviary hen houses each at a nominal capacity of 50,000 hens shows that spatial distribution of the LED light was less uniform than that of the FL light, and hens under the LED were more alert; but no difference at 60 wk age.

Consideration of the Actual Current-Spreading Length of GaN-Based Light-Emitting Diodes for High-Efficiency Design
Hyun-Chul Kim,Jaehee Cho,Jeong Wook Lee,Sukho Yoon,Hyung-Kun Kim,Cheolsoo Sone,Yongjo Park,Tae Yeon Seong +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the current spreading length of GaN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) was measured and analyzed for practical device design based on Thompson's and Guo's models, which are categorized according to vertical series resistance.

Origin of efficiency droop in GaN-based light-emitting diodes
Min-Ho Kim,Martin F. Schubert,Qi Dai,Jong Kyu Kim,E. Fred Schubert,Joachim Piprek,Yongjo Park +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the efficiency droop in GaInN∕GaN multiple-quantum well (MQW) light-emitting diodes was investigated and it was shown that the droop is not related to MQW efficiency but rather to the recombination of carriers outside the MqW region.
