The characteristics of the HIV-1 Env glycoprotein contribute to viral pathogenesis

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the contribution of 41 Envs from 24 patients with different clinical progression rates and viral loads (VLs), LTNP-Elite Controllers (LTNP-ECs); Viremic LTNPs (vLTNPs), and non-controllers individuals contemporary to LTNP or recent, named Old and Modern progressors.

Difference in clinical features of SARS-CoV-2 in pediatric patients before and after emergence of P.1

TL;DR: In this paper , the clinical features of SARS-CoV-2 patients were characterized before and after the emergence of P.1 in a cohort study, and the authors found that patients infected during the dominant period had less fever (70.8% vs. 74.2%) and less lower respiratory tract symptoms (respiratory distress: 11.8%, dyspnea: 27.9%), yet higher prevalence of neurological symptoms, headache for example (42.8%) vs. 5.9%).

Structural basis of spike RBM-specific human antibodies counteracting broad SARS-CoV-2 variants

TL;DR: In this article , the authors analyzed broadly neutralizing antibodies isolated from long-term hospitalized convalescent patients of early SARS-CoV-2 strains and determined the sequence and crystal structure of the Fab fragment of NCV2SG48 in a complex with spike RBD from the original, Delta, and Omicron BA.1.

Synthetic multiantigen MVA vaccine COH04S1 and variant-specific derivatives protect Syrian hamsters from SARS-CoV-2 Omicron subvariants

TL;DR: In this article , the authors developed COH04S1, a synthetic modified vaccinia Ankara vector that co-expresses Wuhan-Hu-1-based spike and nucleocapsid antigens.

The Mutational Landscape of SARS-CoV-2 Variants of Concern Recovered From Egyptian Patients in 2021

TL;DR: It is revealed that SARS-CoV-2 evolution has expanded in Egypt with a considerable increase in the number of VOC, revealing that the Egyptian authorities should take an appropriate approach to investigate the compatibility of already employed vaccines with this VOC and to examine the efficacy of the existing therapeutic regimen against new Sars-Cov-2 variants.

SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell immunity in cases of COVID-19 and SARS, and uninfected controls.

TL;DR: Infection with betacoronaviruses induces multi-specific and long-lasting T cell immunity against the structural N protein, and SARS-CoV-2-reactive T cells were found in individuals who had recovered from SARS or COVID-19 and in unexposed donors, although with different patterns of immunoreactivity.
