In vitro neutralizing activity of BNT162b2 mRNA‐induced antibodies against full B.1.351 SARS‐CoV‐2 variant

TL;DR: In this article , the neutralization activity against SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1, B 1.7 and B.351 was investigated using a Vero-E6 model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hybrid immunity expands the functional humoral footprint of both mRNA and vector-based SARS-CoV-2 vaccines

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors defined whether hybrid immunity shapes the humoral immune response to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) following Pfizer/BNT162b2, Moderna mRNA-1273, ChadOx1/AZD1222, and Ad26.COV2.

Inactivated vaccine-elicited potent antibodies can broadly neutralize SARS-CoV-2 circulating variants

TL;DR: In this article , the VDJ sequence of 118 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) was characterized and 20 neutralizing mAbs showed varied potency and breadth against a range of variants including XBB.

SARS-CoV-2: Searching for the Missing Variants

Emilia Caputo, +1 more

TL;DR: Structural and phylogenetic analysis of the spike glycoprotein highlighted that the last variants, annotated as omicron, have about 30 mutations compared to the initial version reported in China, while the delta variant, supposed to be the omicrons ancestor, shows only 7 mutations.

Vaccine- and BTI-elicited pre-Omicron immunity more effectively neutralizes Omicron sublineages BA.1, BA.2, BA.4 and BA.5 than pre-Omicron infection alone

TL;DR: The importance of vaccination to trigger highly cross-reactive antibodies that neutralize phylogenetically and antigenically distant strains is highlighted, and immune imprinting by first generation vaccines may restrict, but not abolish cross-neutralization is suggested.

SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell immunity in cases of COVID-19 and SARS, and uninfected controls.

TL;DR: Infection with betacoronaviruses induces multi-specific and long-lasting T cell immunity against the structural N protein, and SARS-CoV-2-reactive T cells were found in individuals who had recovered from SARS or COVID-19 and in unexposed donors, although with different patterns of immunoreactivity.
