Validation of Indications for Surgery of European Evidence-Based Guidelines for Patients with Pancreatic Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasms.

TL;DR: The new European evidence-based guidelines on pancreatic cystic neoplasms (EEBGPCN) for the management of IPMNs were validated and Jaundice, enhancing mural nodule < 5 mm, cyst diameter > 40 mm, increased levels of serum CA 19-9, new-onset DM, and main pancreatic duct dilation were associated with HGD/IC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical assessment of the GNAS mutation status in patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of the pancreas.

TL;DR: Clinical application of GNAS mutation assessment to differentiate invasive IPMNs from concomitant PDAC, examine the clonality of recurrent IPMNs in the remnant pancreas using resected specimens, and differentiate pancreatic cystic lesions using cystic fluid collected by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, duodenal fluid, and serum liquid biopsy samples are discussed.

International consensus guidelines for management of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms and mucinous cystic neoplasms of the pancreas.

TL;DR: Ovarian-type stroma has been proposed as a requisite to distinguish MCN from IPMN, and some other distinct features to characterize IPMN and MCN have been identified, but there remain ambiguities between the two diseases.

Diagnosis of pancreatic cystic neoplasms: a report of the cooperative pancreatic cyst study.

TL;DR: Of tested markers, cyst fluid CEA is the most accurate test available for the diagnosis of mucinous cystic lesions of the pancreas.

Increased Risk of Cancer in the Peutz–Jeghers Syndrome

TL;DR: It is suggested that patients with the Peutz-Jeghers syndrome have an increased risk for the development of cancer at gastrointestinal and nongastrointestinal sites.
