Guidelines for the use of flow cytometry and cell sorting in immunological studies

Andrea Cossarizza, +246 more
TL;DR: A rapid search in PubMed shows that using "flow cytometry immunology" as a search term yields more than 68 000 articles, the first of which is not about lymphocytes as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Barcoding of Live Human Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells for Multiplexed Mass Cytometry

TL;DR: CD45 barcoding facilitates accuracy of mass cytometric immunophenotyping studies, thus supporting biomarker discovery efforts, and it should be applicable to fluorescence flow cytometry as well.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low Thymic Activity and Dendritic Cell Numbers Are Associated with the Immune Response to Primary Viral Infection in Elderly Humans

TL;DR: It is revealed in this article that essential elements of immune responses such as recent thymic emigrants and dendritic cells strongly relate to productive immunity in the elderly, providing a conceivable explanation for diminished responsiveness to vaccination with neoantigens and infection with de novo pathogens in the aged population.
