Observation of Z decays to four leptons with the CMS detector at the LHC

S. Chatrchyan, +2257 more
TL;DR: The first observation of the Z boson decaying to four leptons in proton-proton collisions is presented in this article, where a pronounced resonance peak, with a statistical significance of 9.7 σ, is observed in the distribution of the invariant mass of four lepton (electrons and/or muons) with mass and width consistent with expectations for z boson decays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of charged pion, kaon, and proton production in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV

Albert M. Sirunyan, +2234 more
- 05 Dec 2017 -
TL;DR: In this article, the transverse momentum spectra of charged pions, kaons, and protons are measured in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for a heavy pseudoscalar boson decaying to a Z and a Higgs boson at root s=13TeV

Albert M. Sirunyan, +2263 more
TL;DR: A search for a heavy pseudoscalar boson decaying to a Z boson and a Higgs boson with mass of 125 that decays either into a pair of electrons, muons, or neutrinos is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for Quark Compositeness with the Dijet Centrality Ratio in pp Collisions at root s=7 TeV

Vardan Khachatryan, +2200 more
TL;DR: In this article, a search for quark compositeness in the form of quark contact interactions, based on hadronic jet pairs (dijets) produced in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV, is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy dependence of event shapes and of alpha(s) at LEP 2

P. Abreu, +565 more
- 10 Jun 1999 -
TL;DR: In this paper, infrared and collinear safe event shape distributions and their mean values are determined using the data taken at five different centre of mass energies above MZ with the DELPHI detector at LEP from the event shapes, the strong coupling αs is extracted in View the MathML source(αs2), NLLA and a combined scheme using hadronisation corrections evaluated with fragmentation model generators as well as using an analytical power ansatz
