01 Jan 2018TL;DR: This chapter presents the prospects of sexual reproduction in seed plants and then examines the basics of floral structure and later focuses on the anatomy of male reproductive structures.
Abstract: Sexual reproduction in seed plants involves the production of male and female gametes that, if successful, lead to the formation of an embryo. In order to understand the process in reasonable detail, it is necessary to know the reproductive structures—in the case of flowering plants, the reproductive structure of interest is the flower. Whether one flower supports both male and female reproductive parts or separate flowers are employed, this chapter presents these prospects and then examines the basics of floral structure and later focuses on the anatomy of male reproductive structures. Detailed steps are used to show the development of pollen and its germination prior to pollination.

01 Jan 1974TL;DR: In this paper, a more extensive and systematic evaluation of Temple's contribution toward the construction of a distinctively Christian philosophy has been presented, focusing on the major critical points of his position.
Abstract: In the preceding four sections Temple’s Christian philosophy has been systematically and sympathetically expounded. Some brief critical comments have been made at various points for the sake of noting ambiguities and to facilitate an understanding of Temple’s position. The task of the final section is to offer a more extensive and systematic evaluation of Temple’s contribution toward the construction of a distinctively Christian philosophy. An exhaustive critique of all facets of his Christian philosophy has not been attempted; however, an attempt is made to focus on the major critical points of Temple’s position. Where it serves to clarify Temple’s views or to sharpen the evaluation, a reformulation of the problem leading to a possible alternative solution is outlined.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that effective asset allocation requires careful study of the manager's discretion over the composition of each fund's investments, as well as periodic review of the investment allocation of the fund.
Abstract: This article questions whether mutual fund investors attempting to follow an asset allocation plan can determine the appropriateness of a mutual fund in their portfolio simply by the fund name, the announced fund objective, or the classification of the fund by an independent organization. One reason for this difficulty may be the discretion fund managers are given in the fund's investment composition. We argue that this problem exists, and that true, effective asset allocation requires careful study of the manager's discretion over the composition of each fund's investments, as well as periodic review of the investment allocation of the fund.
