TL;DR: This study provides compelling experimental evidence that these nanoscale co-precipitates consist of a Cu-enriched bcc core partially encased by a B2-ordered Ni(Mn, Al) phase, resulting in a high yield strength alloy without sacrificing alloy ductility.
Abstract: Precipitate size and number density are two key factors for tailoring the mechanical behavior of nanoscale precipitate-hardened alloys. However, during thermal aging, the precipitate size and number density change, leading to either poor strength or high strength but significantly reduced ductility. Here we demonstrate, by producing nanoscale co-precipitates in composition-optimized multicomponent precipitation-hardened alloys, a unique approach to improve the stability of the alloy against thermal aging and hence the mechanical properties. Our study provides compelling experimental evidence that these nanoscale co-precipitates consist of a Cu-enriched bcc core partially encased by a B2-ordered Ni(Mn, Al) phase. This co-precipitate provides a more complex obstacle for dislocation movement due to atomic ordering together with interphases, resulting in a high yield strength alloy without sacrificing alloy ductility.

TL;DR: In this article, a unified Chebyshev-Ritz formulation is presented to investigate the vibrations of composite laminated deep open shells with various shell curvatures and arbitrary restraints, including cylindrical, conical and spherical ones.
Abstract: In this paper, a unified Chebyshev–Ritz formulation is presented to investigate the vibrations of composite laminated deep open shells with various shell curvatures and arbitrary restraints, including cylindrical, conical and spherical ones. The general first-order shear deformation shell theory is employed to include the effects of rotary inertias and shear deformation. Under the current framework, regardless of boundary conditions, each of displacements and rotations of the open shells is invariantly expressed as Chebyshev orthogonal polynomials of first kind in both directions. Then, the accurate solutions are obtained by using the Rayleigh–Ritz procedure based on the energy functional of the open shells. The convergence and accuracy of the present formulation are verified by a considerable number of convergence tests and comparisons. A variety of numerical examples are presented for the vibrations of the composite laminated deep shells with various geometric dimensions and lamination schemes. Different sets of classical constraints, elastic supports as well as their combinations are considered. These results may serve as reference data for future researches. Parametric studies are also undertaken, giving insight into the effects of elastic restraint parameters, fiber orientation, layer number, subtended angle as well as conical angle on the vibration frequencies of the composite open shells.

TL;DR: The supervised classification algorithm support vector machines is extended to map both pure pixels and mixed pixels using hyperspectral data, and each endmember is modeled by a set of training samples instead of a single spectrum to accommodate the variations within the relative pure pixels due to system noise.
Abstract: In this letter, the supervised classification algorithm support vector machines is extended to map both pure pixels and mixed pixels using hyperspectral data. The margins between the hyperplanes formed by the pixels on the class boundaries are recognized as mixed region, and the space beyond this region is related to pure pixels. In this way, each endmember is modeled by a set of training samples instead of a single (representative) spectrum to accommodate the variations within the relative pure pixels due to system noise. Unmixing outputs generate an integrated soft- and hard-classification map. The better performance comparing with conventional spectral unmixing method was demonstrated using hyperspectral data sets.
