TL;DR: It is suggested that creatine synthesis is responsible for a smaller proportion of AdoMet-derived methyl groups than has been suggested and that phosphatidylcholine synthesis via phosphatidethanolamine methyltransferase is a major consumer of these methyl groups.

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) monitoring in corporate tax avoidance has been investigated. And the authors show that tax enforcement is more effective than tax avoidance.
Abstract: We extend research on the determinants of corporate tax avoidance to include the role of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) monitoring. Our evidence from large samples implies that U.S. public firms undertake less aggressive tax positions when tax enforcement is stricter. Reflecting its first-order economic impact on firms, our coefficient estimates imply that raising the probability of an IRS audit from 19 percent (the 25th percentile in our data) to 37 percent (the 75th percentile) increases their cash effective tax rates, on average, by nearly two percentage points, which amounts to a 7 percent increase in cash effective tax rates. These results are robust to controlling for firm size and time, which determine our primary proxy for IRS enforcement, in different ways; specifying several alternative dependent and test variables; and confronting potential endogeneity with instrumental variables and panel data estimations, among other techniques. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that similarity solutions for the condensation of spherically symmetric self-gravitating isothermal gas clouds are much more abundant than was hitherto believed; they have discovered that each of the discrete solutions found by previous authors must be replaced by a bounded two-parameter continuum of such solutions.
Abstract: The authors show that similarity solutions for the condensation of spherically symmetric self-gravitating isothermal gas clouds are much more abundant than was hitherto believed; they have discovered that each of the discrete solutions found by previous authors must be replaced by a bounded two-parameter continuum of such solutions. Moreover, the two parameters (z0, w0) admit a clear and useful physical interpretation. z0 characterizes the asymptotic form of a solution as t→-∞ (i.e. at very early times), and reflects how intrinsically unstable against contraction the cloud interior is from the outset. w0 characterizes the asymptotic form of a solution as t→+∞ (i.e. at very late times) and reflects how important external pressure is in driving compression. The evolution of the flow is presented and discussed.

TL;DR: Integrated data analysis results indicated that ustekinumab-treated patients (regardless of dose) demonstrated significantly less radiographic progression at wk 24 than did placebo recipients, and progression was substantially reduced among initial placebo recipients.
Abstract: Objective Evaluate ustekinumab, an anti-interleukin (IL)-12 and IL-23 antibody, effects on radiographic progression in psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Methods We conducted preplanned integrated analyses of combined radiographic data from PSUMMIT-1 and PSUMMIT-2 phase 3, randomised, controlled trials. Patients had active PsA despite prior conventional and/or biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (≥5/66 swollen, ≥5/68 tender joints, C-reactive protein ≥3.0 mg/L, documented plaque psoriasis). Patients (PSUMMIT-1, n=615; PSUMMIT-2, n=312) were randomised to ustekinumab 45 mg, 90 mg, or placebo, at weeks (wk) 0, 4 and every (q) 12 wks. At wk 16, patients with Results Integrated data analysis results indicated that ustekinumab-treated patients (regardless of dose) demonstrated significantly less radiographic progression at wk 24 than did placebo recipients (wk 0–24 total vdH-S score mean changes: 0.4-combined/individual ustekinumab dose groups, 1.0-placebo; all p Conclusions Ustekinumab 45 and 90 mg treatments significantly inhibited radiographic progression of joint damage in patients with active PsA.
