TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of vacuum impregnation for a great quantity of fruits and vegetables is discussed by means of analysing their response to VI. And a model to determine the concentration level of PAC in the impregnating solution was established in order to formulate functional foods with different calcium and iron salts which could represent a determined percentage of the recommended daily intake of these minerals.

TL;DR: Nickel supported on silica-alumina is an efficient and reusable photocatalyst for the reduction of CO2 to methane by H2, reaching selectivity above 95% at CO2 conversion over 90%.
Abstract: Nickel supported on silica–alumina is an efficient and reusable photocatalyst for the reduction of CO2 to methane by H2, reaching selectivity above 95% at CO2 conversion over 90%. Although NiO behaves similarly, it undergoes a gradual deactivation upon reuse. About 26% of the photocatalytic activity of Ni/silica–alumina under solar light derives from the visible light photoresponse.

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of ultrasound and conventional heating under different processing conditions on the inactivation and potential subsequent growth of micro-organisms in orange juice was investigated, and no ultrasound-related detrimental effects on the quality attributes of juice (limonin content, brown pigments and colour) were found.

TL;DR: MoS2 nanoparticles supported on graphitic carbon with a preferential 002 facet orientation have been prepared by pyrolysis of alginic acid films on quartz containing adsorbed (NH4)2MoS4 at 900 °C under Ar atmosphere and exhibited activity for HER.
Abstract: MoS2 is a promising material to replace Pt-based catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), due to its excellent stability and high activity. In this work, MoS2 nanoparticles supported on graphitic carbon (about 20 nm) with a preferential 002 facet orientation have been prepared by pyrolysis of alginic acid films on quartz containing adsorbed (NH4)2MoS4 at 900 °C under Ar atmosphere. Although some variation of the electrocatalytic activity has been observed from batch to batch, the MoS2 sample exhibited activity for HER (a potential onset between 0.2 and 0.3 V vs. SCE), depending on the concentrations of (NH4)2MoS4 precursor used in the preparation process. The loading and particle size of MoS2, which correlate with the amount of exposed active sites in the sample, are the main factors influencing the electrocatalytic activity.
