TLDR
The most promising containment of challenge infections was achieved by intradermal DNA priming followed by recombinant fowl pox virus booster immunizations, which did not require neutralizing antibody and was active for a series of challenges.Abstract:
Eight different protocols were compared for their ability to raise protection against immunodeficiency virus challenges in rhesus macaques. The most promising containment of challenge infections was achieved by intradermal DNA priming followed by recombinant fowl pox virus booster immunizations. This containment did not require neutralizing antibody and was active for a series of challenges ending with a highly virulent virus with a primary isolate envelope heterologous to the immunizing strain.read more

TL;DR: DNA priming followed by a recombinant modified vaccinia Ankara (rMVA) booster controlled a highly pathogenic immunodeficiency virus challenge in a rhesus macaque model, providing hope that a relatively simple multiprotein DNA/MVA vaccine can help to control the acquired immune deficiency syndrome epidemic.

Development of a preventive vaccine for Ebola virus infection in primates
TL;DR: A combination of DNA immunization and boosting with adenoviral vectors that encode viral proteins generated cellular and humoral immunity in cynomolgus macaques demonstrates that it is possible to develop a preventive vaccine against Ebola virus infection in primates.

TL;DR: IL-4 strikingly diminishes priming forIFN gamma production, although this inhibitory effect is blunted in the presence of IL-12, and IFN gamma similarly diminishesPriming for IL-4 production; this effect is principally observed when low concentrations of IL -4 are used in the priming culture.

TL;DR: By far the most efficient DNA immunizations were achieved by using a gene gun to deliver DNA-coated gold beads to the epidermis, and 95% protection was achieved by two immunizations with beads loaded with as little as 0.4 micrograms of DNA.

Cloning, structure, and expression of the mitochondrial cytochrome P-450 sterol 26-hydroxylase, a bile acid biosynthetic enzyme.
TL;DR: The structure of the sterol 26-hydroxylase cDNA reveals it to be a mitochondrial cytochrome P-450, and blotting experiments revealed that the mRNA for this enzyme is expressed in many tissues and that it is encoded by a low copy number gene in the rabbit genome.
