The first observation of stochastic resonance in an optical device, the bidirectional ring laser, is reported and the addition of injected noise can lead to an improved signal-to-noise ratio.
Abstract
We report the first observation of stochastic resonance in an optical device, the bidirectional ring laser. The experiment exploits a new technique to modulate periodically the asymmetry between the two counter-rotating lasing modes. The measurements verify that the addition of injected noise can lead to an improved signal-to-noise ratio (relative to that observed with no externally injected noise).

Observation of stochastic resonance for weak periodic magnetic field signal using a chaotic system

TL;DR: The experiments show the possibility of stochastic resonance for weak subthreshold magnetic field signals in chaotic systems, with parts of the attractor located in different regions of the phase space and with internal noise.

An adaptive fractional stochastic resonance method based on weighted correctional signal-to-noise ratio and its application in fault feature enhancement of wind turbine

- 01 Jan 2022 -
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed an adaptive fractional stochastic resonance (SR) method based on weighted correctional signal-to-noise ratio (WCSNR) to enhance the weak fault feature of wind turbine under strong noise.

Stochastic resonance induced by a multiplicative periodic signal in a logistic growth model with correlated noises

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of multiplicative noise intensity α and additive noise intensity D, and correlated intensity λ on the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in the adiabatic limit were studied.

Oscillations of open-circuit potential during immersion plating of silicon in CuSO4/HF solutions

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the nature of oscillations of open-circuit potential (OCP) during immersion plating of copper on silicon wafers and found that the oscillations are observed within a well-defined interval of experimental conditions (composition of the electrolyte, doping level of silicon wafer, temperature, viscosity of electrolyte etc.).

Observation of stochastic resonance near a subcritical bifurcation

TL;DR: In this paper, a hysteretic subcritical period-doubling bifurcation was observed in the nonlinear strain dynamics of a magnetostrictive oscillator.
