Abstract
We report the first observation of stochastic resonance in an optical device, the bidirectional ring laser. The experiment exploits a new technique to modulate periodically the asymmetry between the two counter-rotating lasing modes. The measurements verify that the addition of injected noise can lead to an improved signal-to-noise ratio (relative to that observed with no externally injected noise).

Influence of correlated noises on growth of a tumor in a modified verhulst model

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of additive and multiplicative noises on the growth of a tumor based on a logistic growth model was studied, and the steady-state probability distribution and the average population of the tumor cells were given to explain the important roles of correlated noises in the tumor growth.

Zero-dispersion non-linear resonance

TL;DR: In this paper, a new type of non-linear resonance is reported, which possesses an unusual counterintuitive feature that strong nonlinear response to a weak periodic force can be obtained in the absence of exact resonance between frequency of the force and any eigenfrequency of the system.

Stochastic resonance for a fractional linear oscillator with two-kinds of fractional-order derivatives subject to multiplicative and signal-modulated noise

TL;DR: In this paper, the output amplitude gain (OAG) of a fractional linear oscillator with two kinds of fractional-order derivatives driven by multiplicative noise and signal-modulated noise is investigated.

On the stochastic resonance from the point of view of filtering properties of a bistable system

TL;DR: In this article, a consistent theory of stochastic resonance is presented taking into account the effective dynamic relaxation time, and it is shown in the small signal amplitude approximation that the output signal-to-noise ratio of a bistable system can exceed this ratio at its input only due the filtering properties of the system.

Stochastic resonance across bifurcations in an asymmetric system

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-smooth system with an asymmetric potential under colored noise excitations is investigated, and it is shown that multistability of the system reduces the mean first passage time between the two steady states.
