Abstract
We report the first observation of stochastic resonance in an optical device, the bidirectional ring laser. The experiment exploits a new technique to modulate periodically the asymmetry between the two counter-rotating lasing modes. The measurements verify that the addition of injected noise can lead to an improved signal-to-noise ratio (relative to that observed with no externally injected noise).

Double stochastic resonance in an insect ecosystem with time delays

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the stochastic resonance (SR)phenomenon in an insect ecosystem with two different types of time delays, at which the insect dynamics is assumed to be disturbed by both additive and multiplicative noises.

Synchronization phenomena in light-controlled oscillators

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a model for the synchronisation of a group of oscillateurs controles par la lumiere (LCO) in a point de vue electronique.

Adaptive parameter-tuning stochastic resonance based on SVD and its application in weak IF digital signal enhancement

TL;DR: An adaptive parameter-tuning stochastic resonance method based on AFSA (artificial fish swarm algorithm) is developed for three types of modulated signals, achieving an optimum matching of noisy signals and non-linear systems at fast convergence speed.

Ordering periodic spatial structures by non-equilibrium fluctuations

TL;DR: In this article, the interplay between noise and periodic spatial modulations in bistable systems outside equilibrium is analyzed and it is shown that noise is able to increase the spatial order of the system, giving rise to periodic patterns which otherwise look random.

Stochastic resonance of a tri-stable system with α stable noise

TL;DR: In this article, a tri-stable system excited by a weak periodic signal is taken as a model and the stochastic resonance phenomenon is investigated by additive α stable noise, and the results indicate that a weak signal can be realized by tuning the system parameters q, p, skewness parameter r and intensity amplification factor Q of α stable noises to act on the resonant output.
