Abstract
We report the first observation of stochastic resonance in an optical device, the bidirectional ring laser. The experiment exploits a new technique to modulate periodically the asymmetry between the two counter-rotating lasing modes. The measurements verify that the addition of injected noise can lead to an improved signal-to-noise ratio (relative to that observed with no externally injected noise).

Adiabatic ac-drive as a tool for acceleration of diffusion in spatially periodic structures and of reset process in threshold devices

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that both deterministic and stochastic dynamics of a spatially periodic underdamped system in the presence of, even a rather weak, adiabatic ac-drive drastically differ from that in the absence of the drive or in the case of other kinds of driving.

Cooperative stochastic effects in a model of a single neuron

TL;DR: This chapter describes the cooperative stochastic effects in a model of a single neuron using the simple Babcock–Westervelt model, which introduces a correlated switching among the bistable states, driven by the noise with the signal-to-noise ratio obtained from the power spectrum, being taken as a measure of the information content in the neuron response.

Dynamic stochastic resonance-based improved watermark extraction from audio signal

TL;DR: In this article, a dynamic stochastic resonance (DSR)-based watermark extraction technique from audio signal in discrete wavelet transform domain has been presented, which is an iterative process that tunes the coefficient of possibly attacked watermarked audio signal so that effect of noise is suppressed and hidden information is enhanced.
