Abstract
Computer Program Abstracts The category Computer Program Abstracts provides a rapid means of communicating up-to-date information concerning both new programs or systems and significant updates to existing ones. Following normal submission, a Computer Program Abstract will be reviewed by one or two members of the IUCr Commission on Crystallographic Computing. It should not exceed 500 words in length and should follow the standard format given on page 189 of the June 1985 issue of the Journal [J. Appl. CrysL (1985). 18, 189190] and on the World Wide Web at http://www.iucr. ac. uk/journals/jac/software/. Lists of software presented and~or reviewed in the Journal of Applied Crystallography are available on the World Wide Web at the above address, together with information about the availability of the software where this is known. Exhaustively methylated azacalix[4]arene: preparation, conformation, and crystal structure with exclusively CH/pi-controlled crystal architecture.

TL;DR: NMR and X-ray crystallographic analysis have demonstrated that this novel azacalix[4]arene adopts a 1,3-alternate conformation both in solution and in the solid state.

Directing role of functional groups in selective generation of C–H⋯π interactions: In situ cryo-crystallographic studies on benzyl derivatives

TL;DR: The in situ cryo-crystallization study of benzyl derivatives reveals that the molecular packing in these compounds is either through methylene (sp3)C-H⋯π or aromatic (sp2)C−H−π interactions depending on the level of acidity of the benzyl proton as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tuning the antiproliferative activity of biologically active iron chelators: characterization of the coordination chemistry and biological efficacy of 2-acetylpyridine and 2-benzoylpyridine hydrazone ligands

TL;DR: Novel structure–activity relationships of aroylhydrazone chelators are described that will be useful in designing new ligands or fine-tuning the activity of others, including toxic Fenton-derived free radicals.

Crystal-Growth Behavior in Ca−Mg Carbonate Bacterial Spherulites

TL;DR: In this paper, two halophilic bacterial strains in porous solid as well as liquid media at high salinity were precipitated by spherulites composed of aragonite, magnesian calcite, and calcian-magnesian (-manganoan) kutnahorite type carbonates.

Operationally unsaturated pincer/rhenium complexes form metal carbenes from cycloalkenes and metal carbynes from alkanes.

TL;DR: Two compounds synthesized here have the formal composition "(PNPR)Re + olefin", and each is capable of dehydrogenating the methyl group of a variety of alkanes at 110 degrees C to form (PNP)ReH triple bond (CR).
