Abstract
Computer Program Abstracts The category Computer Program Abstracts provides a rapid means of communicating up-to-date information concerning both new programs or systems and significant updates to existing ones. Following normal submission, a Computer Program Abstract will be reviewed by one or two members of the IUCr Commission on Crystallographic Computing. It should not exceed 500 words in length and should follow the standard format given on page 189 of the June 1985 issue of the Journal [J. Appl. CrysL (1985). 18, 189190] and on the World Wide Web at http://www.iucr. ac. uk/journals/jac/software/. Influence of chirality of V(V) Schiff base complexes on DNA, BSA binding and cleavage activity.

TL;DR: The fluorescence quenching, thermal melting and viscosity data suggest DNA surface and/or groove binding nature of the complexes and electrophoresis studies also showed greater activity for (R)-[VO(OMe)L] in cleaving DNA and protein as against (S)-[ VO(OME)L].
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and characterization of three mononuclear Fe(III) complexes containing bipodal and tripodal ligands: X-ray molecular structure of the dichloro[N-propanamide-N,N-bis-(2-pyridylmethyl)amine]iron(III) perchlorate

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and characterization of three mononuclear iron(III) complexes were presented, which were characterized by cyclic voltammetry, conductivimetry, elemental analyses, and by electronic, infrared and Mossbauer spectroscopies.

Strong Metal Ion Size Based Selectivity of the Highly Preorganized Ligand PDA (1,10-Phenanthroline-2,9-dicarboxylic Acid) with Trivalent Metal Ions. A Crystallographic, Fluorometric, and Thermodynamic Study

TL;DR: Fluorescence studies show that Y(III) produces the largest CHEF (chelation enhanced fluorescence) effects, followed by La( III) and Lu(III), in the PDA complexes, as do heavy-metal ions such as In(III] and Bi(III, which have large spin-orbit coupling effects.

Coordination behaviour of symmetrical hexadentate N-donor Schiff bases towards zinc(II)pseudohalides: Syntheses, crystal structures and luminescence

TL;DR: In this article, two Schiff bases, N-(1-pyridin-2-ylformylidene)-N′-[2-({2]-(1-polygonal polygonal diagrams)amino]ethyl amino)ethyl]ethane-1,2-diamine (L1) and N-( 1-polycyclic polycyclic deagrams-amino) methyl methylamine (L2) have been prepared and used to synthesize two series of zinc(II) pseudohalide complexes of the din

Functionalised Saturated‐Backbone Carbene Ligands: Yttrium and Uranyl Alkoxy–Carbene Complexes and Bicyclic Carbene–Alcohol Adducts

TL;DR: Using these compounds, the synthesis and structural characterisation of the first electropositive metal complexes of saturated N-heterocyclic carbenes has been achieved, and examples structurally characterised for the yttrium(III) and the uranyl [UO(2)](2+) cations.
