Molybdenum and Molybdenum Compounds

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a survey of the Molybdenum chemistry and its application in various areas of industry, such as mining, automotive, agriculture, and economic aspects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solvatochromism of Mono- and Dimolybdenum Coordination Compounds of Dipyridyloctatetraene and Linear Solvation Energy Relationship Models Based on the Kamlet-Taft and Drago Scales of Solvent Polarity.

TL;DR: The heteroleptic molybdenum complexes have been analyzed quantitatively by means of linear solvation energy relationships based on Kamlet-Taft solvatochromism parameters, as well as on Drago's "unified scale of solvent polarity".
Journal Article

Synthesis and dynamic nuclear magnetic resonance studies of pentafluorobenzenethiolate complexes of molybdenum and tungsten. The crystal and molecular structures of [W(SC6F5)3(CO)(η5-C5H5)]•O.5CH2Cl2 and [N(PPh3)2][Mo(SC6F5)4(η5-C5H5)]

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction between [WBr 3 (CO) 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 )] and excess of Tl(SC 6 F 5 ) affords Tl[WBr 2 (CO), η 5 −C 5H 5 )] (2b) as the major product and [W(SC6F 5 ) 3 ( CO), Δ − 5 − C 5 H5 )] (3) as minor product.

A simple route to molybdenum–carbene catalysts for alkene metathesis

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for the synthesis of tetra-coordinate molybdenum-carbene complexes such as Mo(NBut)(CHBut)[OCH(CF3)2]2, which are catalytically active in alkene metathesis reactions, is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of the WW triply bonded dimers [W2(η-C5H4R)2X4](X = Cl, R = Me or Pri; X = Br, R = Pri) and X-ray crystal structures of [W(η-C5H4Pri)Cl4] and [W2(η-C5H4Pri)2Cl4]

TL;DR: The syntheses of the WW triply bonded species [W2(η-C5H4R)2X4] and their singly bonded congeners are reported along with X-ray crystal-structure determinations of [W 2.367 8(6)A].

Nucleophilic displacement at terminal chloromethylidyne ligands. New synthetic routes to organothio-, organoseleno-, and organotelluro-methylidyne and carbon monosulphide, monoselenide, and monotelluride complexes of molybdenum: X-ray crystallographic characterisation of η1-p-nitrophenylthiomethylidyne(dicarbonyl)[hydrotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)borato]molybdenum(IV)

TL;DR: In this paper, nucleophilic displacement at the carbon atom of a terminal methylidyne ligand has been observed for the first time in the reaction of [Mo(η1-CCl)(CO)2(L)][L = hydrotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)borato] with RE−(E = S, Se) and E2−(S, Se, Te); the products isolated include the organothiomethylidyne complex, which has been characterised by X-ray crystall
