Molybdenum and Molybdenum Compounds

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a survey of the Molybdenum chemistry and its application in various areas of industry, such as mining, automotive, agriculture, and economic aspects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solvatochromism of Mono- and Dimolybdenum Coordination Compounds of Dipyridyloctatetraene and Linear Solvation Energy Relationship Models Based on the Kamlet-Taft and Drago Scales of Solvent Polarity.

TL;DR: The heteroleptic molybdenum complexes have been analyzed quantitatively by means of linear solvation energy relationships based on Kamlet-Taft solvatochromism parameters, as well as on Drago's "unified scale of solvent polarity".
Journal Article

Synthesis and dynamic nuclear magnetic resonance studies of pentafluorobenzenethiolate complexes of molybdenum and tungsten. The crystal and molecular structures of [W(SC6F5)3(CO)(η5-C5H5)]•O.5CH2Cl2 and [N(PPh3)2][Mo(SC6F5)4(η5-C5H5)]

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction between [WBr 3 (CO) 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 )] and excess of Tl(SC 6 F 5 ) affords Tl[WBr 2 (CO), η 5 −C 5H 5 )] (2b) as the major product and [W(SC6F 5 ) 3 ( CO), Δ − 5 − C 5 H5 )] (3) as minor product.

Journal ArticleDOI

A novel oxygen-centered hexanuclear molybdenum alkoxide cluster, Mo6O(OEt)18

TL;DR: The sol-gel approach, viz. hydrolysis of metal alkoxides and subsequent processing of the precipitated hydroxides or hydrous oxides, has become an important method for synthesis of oxide ceramics as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regioselectivity in the reactions of dimolybdenum and ditungsten σ,η2(4e)-allenylidene complexes with nucleophilic and electrophilic reagents; crystal structure and dynamic behaviour of the cationic complex [W2(η-HC2CMe2)(CO)4(η-C5H5)2][BF4]

TL;DR: In this article, the σ,η2(4e)-allenylidene complexes [M2(σ, η2-CCCMe2)(CO)4(η-C5H5)2] with K[BHBus3] or HBF4·Et2O results in attack on the γ- or the α-carbon atom forming [M 2σ, Δη 2-CCPri)(CO), and the X-ray crystal structure and solution dynamic behaviour of the cations are discussed in relation to the
Journal ArticleDOI

High oxidation state alkyl and carbene complexes of molybdenum containing the t-butylimido ligand

TL;DR: Alkylation reactions of imido-oxo complexes of molybdenum(VI) lead to the formation of various imidoalkyl and imido carbene compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bis(ethylene)(η-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)cobalt as a precursor to heteronuclear metal clusters: X-ray crystal strucutre of [Co2Mo2(µ-CO)3lpar;µ4-CO)(η-C5H5)2(η-C5Me5)2]; a model for CO activation on a stepped metal surface

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel bonding mode for a CO ligand was established by X-ray diffraction, established by the molecular structure of the latter species, which reveals a novel binding mode for the ligand.
