Global distribution of earthworm diversity

Helen Phillips, +145 more
- 25 Oct 2019 -
TL;DR: It was found that local species richness and abundance typically peaked at higher latitudes, displaying patterns opposite to those observed in aboveground organisms, which suggest that climate change may have serious implications for earthworm communities and for the functions they provide.
Journal Article

Population dynamics of earthworms in relation to soil physico-chemical parameters in agroforestry systems of Mizoram, India.

TL;DR: In this paper, earthworm population dynamics was studied in two agroforestry systems in the tropical hilly terrain of Mizoram, north-east India, over a period of 24 months, from July 2002 to June 2004.
Journal ArticleDOI

Global data on earthworm abundance, biomass, diversity and corresponding environmental properties

Helen Phillips, +173 more
- 21 May 2021 -
TL;DR: The Earthworm diversity data, obtained from the primary literature or provided directly by authors, were collated with information on site locations, including coordinates, habitat cover, and soil properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diversity and Metabolic Potential of Earthworm Gut Microbiota in Indo-Myanmar Biodiversity Hotspot

TL;DR: In insight into the gut microbial composition and their putative functional roles in the gut of tropical hilly earthworms, the presence of enzymes involved in the process of denitrification and methanogenesis were identified.
