Global distribution of earthworm diversity

Helen Phillips, +145 more
- 25 Oct 2019 -
TL;DR: It was found that local species richness and abundance typically peaked at higher latitudes, displaying patterns opposite to those observed in aboveground organisms, which suggest that climate change may have serious implications for earthworm communities and for the functions they provide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Land use as a driver of soil fertility and biodiversity across an agricultural landscape in the Central Peruvian Andes

TL;DR: This work worked with local communities to identify and map dominant land uses in an agricultural landscape surrounding Quilcas, Peru, and indicated clear impacts of land use on soil fertility and biological communities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Implications of changes in land cover and landscape structure for the biocontrol potential of stemborers in Ethiopia

TL;DR: Changes in land use and landscape structure in a landscape in the Rift Valley region of Ethiopia suggest that the capacity of the landscape to support populations of natural enemies of stemborers in different ways is influenced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Global data on earthworm abundance, biomass, diversity and corresponding environmental properties

Helen Phillips, +173 more
- 21 May 2021 -
TL;DR: The Earthworm diversity data, obtained from the primary literature or provided directly by authors, were collated with information on site locations, including coordinates, habitat cover, and soil properties.
