TL;DR: In this paper, the design, fabrication and characterization of 32nm HfO 2 /TiSi 2 PMOS device is presented; replacing the conventional SiO 2 dielectric and Poly-Silicon.
Abstract: The evolution of MOSFET technology has been governed solely by device scaling, delivered an ever-increasing transistor density through Moore's Law. In this paper, the design, fabrication and characterization of 32nm HfO 2 /TiSi 2 PMOS device is presented; replacing the conventional SiO 2 dielectric and Poly-Silicon. The fabrication and simulation of PMOS transistor is performed via Virtual Wafer Fabrication (VWF) Silvaco TCAD Tools namely ATHENA and ATLAS. Taguchi L9 Orthogonal method is then applied to this experiment for optimization of threshold voltage (V TH ) and leakage current (I OFF ). The simulation result shows that the optimal value of V TH and I OFF which are 0.1030075V and 3.4264075×10−12A/um respectively are well within ITRS prediction.

TL;DR: In this article, a double-effect passive solar still is designed for experimental investigations to determine the freshwater collected at the output channel, and a two-phase, three-dimensional model of the unit is developed in ANSYS FLUENT for the transient state to simulate various temperatures inside the solar still and to estimate the production rate of distilled water produced.
Abstract: Even though water is a renewable resource, most of the water present on the earth’s surface is not suitable for direct human consumption. Besides, due to increasing population, urbanization, environmental pollution and growth of industries, the requirement for pure water is found increasing day by day. Also, natural resources of water can meet freshwater demand to only to a limited extent. Hence, there is a need to find a way to purify saline water with the help of an effective water desalination technique. Solar still is one such method which makes use of naturally available sunlight to purify impure/saline water. In this paper, a double-effect passive solar still is designed for experimental investigations to determine the freshwater collected at the output channel. Also, a two-phase, three-dimensional model of the unit is developed in ANSYS FLUENT for the transient state to simulate various temperatures inside the solar still and to estimate the production rate of distilled water produced. The simulation was run for 8 h, and the results have been compared with the experiment performed. Experimental investigations show a total distilled output of 3.2 L/m2 collected in channel, whereas according to analysis results, 3.74 L/m2 output is observed. Here, simulation results follow the similar trend as the experimental results and show good agreement with each other.

TL;DR: A detailed study of a more realistic system of semi-synchronous updates where pN agents are updated at every time instant and indicates that a transition from an all-defector state to a mixed state as a function of p is a first-order transition.
Abstract: The emergence of cooperation in self-centered individuals has been a major puzzle in the study of evolutionary ethics. Reciprocal altruism is one of the explanations put forward and the prisoner's dilemma has been a paradigm in this context. The emergence of cooperation was demonstrated for the prisoner's dilemma on a lattice with synchronous update. However, the cooperation disappeared for asynchronous update and the general validity of the conclusions was questioned. Neither synchronous nor asynchronous updates are realistic for natural systems. In this paper, we make a detailed study of a more realistic system of semi-synchronous updates where pN agents are updated at every time instant. We observe a transition from an all-defector state to a mixed state as a function of p. Our studies indicate that despite it being a transition from an absorbing state, it is a first-order transition. Furthermore, we used a damage spreading technique to demonstrate that the transition in this system could be classified as a frozen–chaotic transition.

01 Nov 2018TL;DR: Using OpenALPR’s software framework and RaspberryPi, a real-time Indian license plate recognition system could be implemented for some application specific purposes and a simple and fast technique is presented.
Abstract: A simple and fast technique is presented in this paper for Indian license plate recognition system. Using OpenALPR’s software framework and RaspberryPi, a real-time Indian license plate recognition system could be implemented for some application specific purposes. HAAR and LBP features are extracted from the acquired vehicle images and subjected to training of cascade classifiers in order to localize license number plates. The validation process is used to optimally select number of stages of cascade classifiers. The extracted number plates are then utilized for character recognition. Cascade classifier with LBP features is suitable for localization of license plates with accuracy more than 98%. Whereas, the average number plate recognition accuracy is above 96% for images captured from front side. The proposed system has been prototyped using C++ and RaspberryPi 3 and experimental results have been shown for recognition of Indian license plates

01 Jan 2020TL;DR: The proposed work presents hyper parameter tuning of random forest and its parameter when it achieves highest accuracy and the tuning and selection of the best parameters specially for the bird species identification system.
Abstract: Hyper parameters are regulated parameters that are selected for training a model that controls the training process itself. Such a set of differently configured models can be achieved through the normal process of developing the network and tuning its hyper parameters. During this process, each model can be saved and a subset of the better models is selected for the set. A random forest creates many decision trees called forests and combines them together to obtain more accurate and stable forecasts. The proposed work presents hyper parameter tuning of random forest and its parameter when it achieves highest accuracy. The proposed work presents the tuning and selection of the best parameters specially for the bird species identification system. Birds play an important role in maintaining the ecological balance of the earth.
