TL;DR: In this article, a 2 wt % polyaniline-hydrochloric acid-based paint coating was applied on low carbon steel in a chloride medium and the corrosion protection performance of the coating was evaluated by using potentiodynamic polarization techniques and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
Abstract: Conducting polyaniline powder was synthesized chemically and paints containing conducting polyaniline powder were applied on low carbon steel samples. The conducting polyaniline powder was characterized by UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy and the morphology of paint coating on low carbon steel was studied by scanning electron microscopy. The corrosion protection performance of the coating was evaluated by using potentiodynamic polarization techniques and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It has been found that the 2 wt % polyaniline-hydrochloric acid based paint coating offers maximum corrosion protection to low carbon steel in chloride medium.

01 Nov 2008TL;DR: An attempt is made to develop off-line recognition system for isolated Devanagari numerals using higher order Zernike moments because they are found to perform better in terms of computational complexity and classification achieved.
Abstract: The preprocessing of numerals includes bounding them for translation invariance followed by normalization for scale invariance. We achieve translation and scale invariance using simple geometric moments. Higher order Zernike moments are used as shape descriptors. Due to rotation invariance and orthogonal properties of Zernike moments, they are found to perform better in terms of computational complexity and classification achieved. The algorithm has been tested on different handwritten samples taken from different people. In this paper, an attempt is made to develop off-line recognition system for isolated Devanagari numerals.

03 Jun 2011TL;DR: This paper tries to provide a precise understanding of FCoE and a stepping stone towards the same, and elaborates the concepts of the Linux kernel, its configuration and compilation intricacies.
Abstract: Fibre Channel over Ethernet is proposed mapping of Fibre Channel frames in existing Ethernet, a successful convergence of LAN and SAN. FCoE is not a replacement for conventional Fibre Channel but is an extension of Fibre Channel over a different link layer transport. The basic terminologies for FCoE are FCoE software Initiator and Target. Initiator of FCoE is the client requesting for the services like LUNs from target and Target may be server serving the Initiator's request by granting the requested LUNs and maintaining the initiator's session. This paper tries to provide a precise understanding of FCoE and a stepping stone towards the same. It also elaborates the concepts of the Linux kernel, its configuration and compilation intricacies. We have also tried to give a brief review about Fibre Channel, Converged Network Adapters and Storage Area Networks. The paper also throws light on the current research activities going on in this domain. We believe that this documentation is a good head start for those who wish to try their hands in FCoE domain.

14 Oct 2010TL;DR: This paper proposes the design of firmware (FW) update system for RTC-CANopen, including system structure and FW update algorithm, and developed update algorithm and system based on the CANopen software update standard.
Abstract: In this paper, we propose the design of firmware (FW) update system for RTC-CANopen, including system structure and FW update algorithm. RTC-CANopen enables embedded and robotic systems to use existing CANopen device easily. We developed update algorithm and system based on the CANopen software update standard. Thus, our proposed system is able to support standard CANopen devices. By accomplishing our research, we can easily maintain the FW of embedded system as well as robotic system adopting RTC-CANopen.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on high performance metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) photosensors based on asymmetric metal pad areas, which require a single-step metal deposition, and exhibit large photo response even under zero-bias.
Abstract: We report on high performance metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) photosensors based on asymmetric metal pad areas. The reported devices require a single-step metal deposition, and exhibit large photo response even under zero-bias. Moreover the devices offer fast and stable light switching behavior. Device fabrication and electrical characterization results are presented that are further analyzed with TCAD modeling and simulation. Device simulations show that contact asymmetry along with surface recombination and barrier lowering plays an important role in the MSM I–V characteristics.
