Abstract: Bi1−xLaxFeO3 ceramics with x=0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 have been synthesized by solid state reaction, starting from metal oxides. A series of structure transformations is found to depend upon the doping level. Below 10% La doping, Bi1−xLaxFeO3 maintains the rhombohedral structure of BiFeO3. However, for Bi0.8La0.2FeO3 and Bi0.7La0.3FeO3, the structures change to the orthorhombic and tetragonal, respectively. La doping significantly reduces electric leakage and leads to successful observation of electrical polarization hysteresis loops. Doping with La also enhances the ferromagnetic moment, due to the broken cycloid spin structure caused by the changes in the crystalline structure.

Abstract: In this paper we revisit the security models of certificateless signatures and propose two new constructions which are provably secure in the random oracle model. We divide the potential adversaries according to their attack power, and for the first time, three new kinds of adversaries are introduced into certificateless signatures. They are Normal Adversary, Strong Adversary and Super Adversary (ordered by their attack power). Combined with the known Type I Adversary and Type II Adversary in certificateless system, we then define the security of certificateless signatures in different attack scenarios. Our new models, together with the others in the literature, will enable us to better understand the security of certificateless signatures. Two concrete schemes with different security levels are also proposed in this paper. The first scheme, which is proved secure against Normal Type I and Super Type II Adversary, enjoys the shortest signature length among all the known certificateless signature schemes. The second scheme is secure against Super Type I and Type II adversary. Compared with the scheme in ACNS 2006 which has a similar security level, our second scheme requires lower operation cost but a little longer signature length.

Abstract: The use of multiwalled aligned carbon nanotubes provides a novel electrode platform for inherently conducting polymer based biosensors. The example used here to highlight the usefulness of such a platform is the polypyrrole based glucose oxidase system for detection of glucose. The use of these three dimensional electrodes offers advantages in that large accessible enzyme loadings can be obtained within an ultrathin layer. It has also been found that the detection of H2O2 at these new electrode structures containing iron loaded nanotube tips can be achieved at low anodic potentials. The result is a sensitive and selective glucose sensor.

Abstract: New models of leadership are needed for the higher education sector to continue to graduate students with leading edge capabilities. While multiple theories of leadership exist, the higher education sector requires a less hierarchical approach that takes account of its specialised and professional context. Over the last decade the sector has explored new leadership approaches based on public and private sector models accompanied by an increase in managerial control, market competition, government scrutiny and organisational restructuring. These changes have increased the gap between academics and ‘other’ staff as academic autonomy has been reduced. This paper presents a distributive leadership approach that places emphasis on collective collaboration rather than individual power and control. Abstract: The aim of this review was to evaluate the reliability and validity of methods used to assess the multiple components of sedentary behaviour (i.e. screen time, sitting, not moving and existing at low energy expenditure) in children and adolescents. Twenty-six studies met our inclusion criteria and were reviewed. Thirteen studies reported the reliability of self- and proxy-report measures of sedentary behaviour and seven of these were found to have acceptable test-retest reliability. Evidence for the criterion validity of self- and proxy-report measures was examined in three studies with mixed results. Seven studies examined the reliability and/or validity of direct observation and the findings were generally positive. Five studies demonstrated the utility of accelerometers to accurately classify sedentary behaviour. Self-report measures provide reliable estimates of screen time, yet their validity remains largely untested. While accelerometers can accurately classify participants' behaviour as sedentary, they do not provide information about type of sedentary behaviour or context. Studies utilizing measures of sedentary behaviour need to more adequately report on the validity and reliability of the measures used. We recommend the use of objective measures of sedentary behaviour such as accelerometers, in conjunction with subjective measures (e.g. self-report), to assess type and context of behaviour.
