TL;DR: Mortality, prevalence, and DALY estimates are compared with those expected according to the Socio-demographic Index (SDI) as a proxy for the development status of regions and countries, and a significant increase in age-standardised prevalence rate of decompensated cirrhosis between 1990 and 2017.

TL;DR: An online deterministic algorithm named BAR is presented and it is proved that it is 4.56-competitive, which improves the previous algorithm of Kim and Chwa which was shown to be 5-competitive by Chan et al.
Abstract: We study an on-line broadcast scheduling problem in which requests have deadlines, and the objective is to maximize the weighted throughput, i.e., the weighted total length of the satisfied requests. For the case where all requested pages have the same length, we present an online deterministic algorithm named BAR and prove that it is 4.56-competitive. This improves the previous algorithm of Kim and Chwa [11] which is shown to be 5-competitive by Chan et al. [4]. In the case that pages may have different lengths, we prove a lower bound of Ω(Δ/logΔ) on the competitive ratio where Δ is the ratio of maximum to minimum page lengths. This improves upon the previous $\sqrt{\Delta}$ lower bound in [11,4] and is much closer to the current upper bound of ($\Delta+2\sqrt{\Delta}+2$) in [7]. Furthermore, for small values of Δ we give better lower bounds.

TL;DR: An alkali niobate-based lead-free piezoceramic with the largest d33 of ∼490 pC/N ever reported so far using conventional solid-state method is reported, which may pave the way for "lead-free at last".
Abstract: Environment protection and human health concern is the driving force to eliminate the lead from commercial piezoelectric materials. In 2004, Saito et al. [Saito et al., Nature, 2004, 432, 84.] developed an alkali niobate-based perovskite solid solution with a peak piezoelectric constant d33 of 416 pC/N when prepared in the textured polycrystalline form, intriguing the enthusiasm of developing high-performance lead-free piezoceramics. Although much attention has been paid on the alkali niobate-based system in the past ten years, no significant breakthrough in its d33 has yet been attained. Here, we report an alkali niobate-based lead-free piezoceramic with the largest d33 of ∼490 pC/N ever reported so far using conventional solid-state method. In addition, this material system also exhibits excellent integrated performance with d33∼390–490 pC/N and TC∼217–304 °C by optimizing the compositions. This giant d33 of the alkali niobate-based lead-free piezoceramics is ascribed to not only the construction of a n...

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive review of the functional hydrogel as a wound dressing is presented, which summarizes the skin wound healing process and relates evaluation parameters and then reviews the advanced functions of hydrogels such as antimicrobial property, adhesion and hemostasis, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidation, substance delivery, self-healing, stimulus response, conductivity, and the recently emerged wound monitoring feature.
Abstract: Hydrogels, due to their excellent biochemical and mechnical property, have shown attractive advantages in the field of wound dressings. However, a comprehensive review of the functional hydrogel as a wound dressing is still lacking. This work first summarizes the skin wound healing process and relates evaluation parameters and then reviews the advanced functions of hydrogel dressings such as antimicrobial property, adhesion and hemostasis, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidation, substance delivery, self-healing, stimulus response, conductivity, and the recently emerged wound monitoring feature, and the strategies adopted to achieve these functions are all classified and discussed. Furthermore, applications of hydrogel wound dressing for the treatment of different types of wounds such as incisional wound and the excisional wound are summarized. Chronic wounds are also mentioned, and the focus of attention on infected wounds, burn wounds, and diabetic wounds is discussed. Finally, the future directions of hydrogel wound dressings for wound healing are further proposed.
