Multicomponent transport of alcohols in an anion exchange membrane measured by in-situ ATR FTIR spectroscopy
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used in-situ ATR FTIR spectroscopy to quantify the permeability of Selemion AMV, a commonly used anion exchange membrane, to mixtures of alcohols.
Journal ArticleDOI
Local Deprotonation Enables Cation Exchange, Porosity Modulation, and Tunable Adsorption Selectivity in a Metal–Organic Framework
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that under regulated synthetic conditions the protonated carboxyl sites in a neutral metal-organic framework (MOF), known as MOF-324, can undergo complete deprotonation, yielding NH4@ZnPzC [formulated as NH4·Zn3OH(Pzc)2(HPzC), H2Pz C = 4-pyrazolecarboxylic acid], which is a modified, anionic framework with a pcu-g net.

Tuning the Hydrophobicity of Zinc Dipyridyl Paddlewheel Metal–Organic Frameworks for Selective Sorption
Mitchell H. Weston,Amelia A. Delaquil,Amy A. Sarjeant,Omar K. Farha,Joseph T. Hupp,SonBinh T. Nguyen +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a series of isostructural noncatenated, water-stable zinc-based dipyridyl pillared-paddlewheel metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) was synthesized with tunable pore hydrophobicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
A robust luminescent Ba (II) metal–organic framework based on pyridine carboxylate ligand for sensing of small molecules
TL;DR: In this article, a 3D supramolecular network built by different monochiral sheets was shown to have a luminescence intensity that can be modulated by different organic solvents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nickel(II) and copper(I,II)-based metal-organic frameworks incorporating an extended tris-pyrazolate linker
Aurel Tăbăcaru,Aurel Tăbăcaru,Simona Galli,Claudio Pettinari,Norberto Masciocchi,Thomas M. McDonald,Jeffrey R. Long,Jeffrey R. Long +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, powder diffraction structure determination methods were employed to determine the crystal and molecular structure of the copper(I,II) derivative: triangular [Cu3N6(μ3-OH)] nodes are connected to six nearby ones by the tritopic pyrazolate ligands, thus constructing flat two-dimensional layers that stack to form slit-like one-dimensional channels.

Functional porous coordination polymers.
TL;DR: The aim is to present the state of the art chemistry and physics of and in the micropores of porous coordination polymers, and the next generation of porous functions based on dynamic crystal transformations caused by guest molecules or physical stimuli.

Selective gas adsorption and separation in metal–organic frameworks
TL;DR: This critical review starts with a brief introduction to gas separation and purification based on selective adsorption, followed by a review of gas selective adsorbents in rigid and flexible MOFs, and primary relationships between adsorptive properties and framework features are analyzed.

TL;DR: Metal-organic framework (MOF-5), a prototype of a new class of porous materials and one that is constructed from octahedral Zn-O-C clusters and benzene links, was used to demonstrate that its three-dimensional porous system can be functionalized with the organic groups and can be expanded with the long molecular struts biphenyl, tetrahydropyrene, pyrene, and terphenyl.

Design and synthesis of an exceptionally stable and highly porous metal-organic framework
TL;DR: In this article, an organic dicarboxylate linker is used in a reaction that gives supertetrahedron clusters when capped with monocarboxyates.
