Fine-Tuning of Nano-Traps in a Stable Metal-Organic Framework for Highly Efficient Removal of Propyne from Propylene

TL;DR: Zhang et al. as mentioned in this paper designed a microporous MOF with a fine-tuned nanocage, exhibiting the desired size, shape, and functionalities that are suitable for trapping a single propyne (C3H4) molecule.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correlation of Gas Permeability in a Metal-Organic Framework MIL-101(Cr)–Polysulfone Mixed-Matrix Membrane with Free Volume Measurements by Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy (PALS)

TL;DR: Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) indicated that the increased gas permeability of the mixed-matrix membranes is due to the free volume in the PSF polymer and the added large free volume inside the MIL-101 particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Siloxane-based metal–organic frameworks with remarkable catalytic activity in mild environmental photodegradation of azo dyes

TL;DR: In this article, three metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were obtained from a siloxane dicarboxylic acid (CX), 4,4′-bipyridyne (BPy) or 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (EBPy) and copper or cobalt acetates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incorporation of In2S3 Nanoparticles into a Metal-Organic Framework for Ultrafast Removal of Hg from Water.

TL;DR: A mild and facile method has been developed to confine ultrasmall In2S3 nanoparticles in the cavities of a MOF for the first time, which can remove 99.95% of the Hg2+ from wastewater very efficiently in as short as 1 min with the highest distribution coefficient among all MOF-based mercury adsorbents.

Functional porous coordination polymers.

TL;DR: The aim is to present the state of the art chemistry and physics of and in the micropores of porous coordination polymers, and the next generation of porous functions based on dynamic crystal transformations caused by guest molecules or physical stimuli.

Selective gas adsorption and separation in metal–organic frameworks

TL;DR: This critical review starts with a brief introduction to gas separation and purification based on selective adsorption, followed by a review of gas selective adsorbents in rigid and flexible MOFs, and primary relationships between adsorptive properties and framework features are analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Systematic Design of Pore Size and Functionality in Isoreticular MOFs and Their Application in Methane Storage

TL;DR: Metal-organic framework (MOF-5), a prototype of a new class of porous materials and one that is constructed from octahedral Zn-O-C clusters and benzene links, was used to demonstrate that its three-dimensional porous system can be functionalized with the organic groups and can be expanded with the long molecular struts biphenyl, tetrahydropyrene, pyrene, and terphenyl.

Design and synthesis of an exceptionally stable and highly porous metal-organic framework

TL;DR: In this article, an organic dicarboxylate linker is used in a reaction that gives supertetrahedron clusters when capped with monocarboxyates.
