Luminescent metal–organic frameworks for chemical sensing and explosive detection

TL;DR: This review intends to provide an update of work published since then and focuses on the photoluminescence properties of MOFs and their possible utility in chemical and biological sensing and detection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs): from design to applications

TL;DR: This critical review describes the state-of-the-art development in the design, synthesis, characterisation, and application of the crystalline porous COF materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tuning the structure and function of metal–organic frameworks via linker design

TL;DR: This critical review of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) highlights advances in MOF synthesis focusing on linker design and examples of building MOFs to reach unique properties, such as unprecedented surface area, pore aperture, molecular recognition, stability, and catalysis, through linkers are described.

Microporous metal-organic frameworks incorporating 1,4-benzeneditetrazolate: syntheses, structures, and hydrogen storage properties.

TL;DR: The potential of tetrazolate-based ligands for forming metal-organic frameworks of utility in hydrogen storage is demonstrated with the use of 1,4-benzeneditetrazolate (BDT 2- ) to generate a series of robust, microporous materials as discussed by the authors.

Porous lanthanide-organic frameworks: synthesis, characterization, and unprecedented gas adsorption properties.

TL;DR: The reactions of Ln(NO(3))(3) (Ln = La, Er) with 1,4-phenylendiacetic acid (H(2)PDA) under hydrothermal conditions produce isostructural lanthanide coordination polymers with the empirical formula [Ln(2)(PDA)(3)(H( 2)O)] x 2H(1)O.
Journal ArticleDOI

Separation of CO2 from CH4 using mixed-ligand metal-organic frameworks.

TL;DR: The microwave sample shows a selectivity of approximately 30 for CO2 over CH4, which is among the highest selectivities reported for this separation, and the applicability of IAST to this system was demonstrated by performing GCMC simulations for both single-component and mixture adsorption.

Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks for kinetic separation of propane and propene

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for separating propane and propene with the ZIF of the present invention, as well as other ZIFs, is presented. But this method requires the use of 2-chloroimidazole ligands.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of a one-dimensional array of oxygen in a microporous metal-organic solid

TL;DR: The direct observation of dioxygen molecules physisorbed in the nanochannels of a microporous copper coordination polymer by the MEM (maximum entropy method)/Rietveld method, using in situ high-resolution synchrotron x-ray powder diffraction measurements is reported.
