TLDR
In this article, the authors present extensive forecasts for constraints on the dark energy equation of state and parameterized deviations from General Relativity, achievable with Stage III and Stage IV experimental programs that incorporate supernovae, BAO, weak lensing, and cosmic microwave background data.

Fast full N-body simulations of generic modified gravity: conformal coupling models

TL;DR: MG-GLAM as mentioned in this paper is a code developed for the very fast production of full $N$-body cosmological simulations in modified gravity (MG) models, which incorporates an efficient multigrid relaxation technique to solve the characteristic nonlinear partial differential equations of these models.

A Study of Selection Methods for H alpha Emitting Galaxies at z~1.3 for the Subaru/FMOS Galaxy Redshift Survey for Cosmology (FastSound)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the target selection methods for the FastSound project, a redshift survey for H alpha emitting galaxies at z = 1.2-1.5 using Subaru/FMOS to measure the linear growth rate f\sigma 8 via Redshift Space Distortion (RSD).
Journal ArticleDOI

Cosmic Shear with Einstein Rings

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore a new technique to measure cosmic shear using Einstein rings and find that the number density of Einstein rings in the COSMOS survey is representative, and that future strong lensing surveys should have a cosmological precision comparable to the current ground-based weak lensesing surveys.

Is dark energy evolving

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used principal component analysis (PCA) to find evidence for the evolution in dark energy density by employing distance redshift data from supernovae and baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) along with WMAP7 distance priors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Projection effects of large-scale structures on weak-lensing peak abundances

TL;DR: In this paper, the LSS projection effects were investigated with ray tracing simulations, and it was shown that for current surveys with a large shape noise, the stochastic LSS effects are subdominant.

The relationship between infrared, optical, and ultraviolet extinction

TL;DR: In this article, the average extinction law over the 3.5 micron to 0.125 wavelength range was derived for both diffuse and dense regions of the interstellar medium. And the validity of the law over a large wavelength interval suggests that the processes which modify the sizes and compositions of grains are stochastic in nature.
