TLDR
In this article, the authors present extensive forecasts for constraints on the dark energy equation of state and parameterized deviations from General Relativity, achievable with Stage III and Stage IV experimental programs that incorporate supernovae, BAO, weak lensing, and cosmic microwave background data.

Luminous red galaxies in clusters: central occupation, spatial distributions and miscentring

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived the central occupation of luminous red galaxies (LRGs) as a function richness, Ncen({\lambda}), and showed that clusters contain a significantly lower fraction of central LRGs than predicted from the two-point correlation function.

Galaxy shapes and alignments in the MassiveBlack-II hydrodynamic and dark matter-only simulations

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare the shapes and intrinsic alignments of galaxies in the MassiveBlack-II cosmological hydrodynamic simulation (MBII) to those in a dark matter-only (DMO) simulation performed with the same volume (100$h^{-1}$Mpc)$^{3}), parameters, and initial conditions, and find that galaxies in MBII are more aligned with the inner parts of their dark matter subhalos, while there is no radial trend in their alignments with the corresponding subhalo in the

Cross-correlating Planck CMB lensing with SDSS: Lensing-lensing and galaxy-lensing cross-correlations

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present results from cross-correlating Planck CMB lensing maps with the SDSS galaxy lensing shape catalog and BOSS galaxy catalogs.
Journal ArticleDOI

The redshift-space cluster–galaxy cross-correlation function – I. Modelling galaxy infall on to Millennium simulation clusters and SDSS groups

TL;DR: In this article, a method to recover galaxy infall kinematics (GIK) from measurements of the redshift-space cluster-galaxy cross-correlation function is presented.

The relationship between infrared, optical, and ultraviolet extinction

TL;DR: In this article, the average extinction law over the 3.5 micron to 0.125 wavelength range was derived for both diffuse and dense regions of the interstellar medium. And the validity of the law over a large wavelength interval suggests that the processes which modify the sizes and compositions of grains are stochastic in nature.
