TLDR
In this article, the authors present extensive forecasts for constraints on the dark energy equation of state and parameterized deviations from General Relativity, achievable with Stage III and Stage IV experimental programs that incorporate supernovae, BAO, weak lensing, and cosmic microwave background data.

LSST: from Science Drivers to Reference Design and Anticipated Data Products

Željko Ivezić, +312 more
- 15 May 2008 -
TL;DR: The LSST design is driven by four main science themes: probing dark energy and dark matter, taking an inventory of the solar system, exploring the transient optical sky, and mapping the Milky Way.

The clustering of galaxies in the completed SDSS-III Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey: cosmological analysis of the DR12 galaxy sample

Shadab Alam, +90 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present cosmological results from the final galaxy clustering data set of the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey, part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III.
Journal ArticleDOI

The clustering of galaxies in the sdss-iii baryon oscillation spectroscopic survey: Baryon acoustic oscillations in the data release 9 spectroscopic galaxy sample

Lauren Anderson, +76 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a measurement of the cosmic distance scale from detections of the baryon acoustic oscillations in the clustering of galaxies from the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS), which is part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III (SDSS-III).
Journal ArticleDOI

$f(R,T)$ gravity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered a modified theory of gravity, where the gravitational Lagrangian is given by an arbitrary function of the Ricci scalar and of the trace of the stress-energy tensor.

Biased clustering in the cold dark matter cosmogony

TL;DR: Les proprietes d'agencement des condensations de matiere sombre froide sont calculees, and les resultats sont appliques aux galaxies et autres objets astronomiques qui pourraient etre identifies avec quelque sous-ensemble of ces halos sombres as mentioned in this paper.

Scaling relations for galaxy clusters in the Millennium-XXL simulation

TL;DR: The Millennium-XXL or MXXL simulation as mentioned in this paper uses 303 billion particles to represent the formation of dark matter structures throughout a 4.1 Gpc box in a Λ cold dark matter cosmology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measuring Cosmological Parameters with Galaxy Surveys

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the accuracy with which future galaxy surveys can measure cosmological parameters, and they show that by breaking parameter degeneracies of the Planck cosmic microwave background satellite, the Sloan digital sky survey may be able to reduce the error bars by about an order of magnitude on the large-scale power normalization and the reionization optical depth, down to percent levels.

Prospects for probing the dark energy via supernova distance measurements

TL;DR: In this paper, distance measurements to type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) indicate that the Universe is accelerating and that two-thirds of the critical energy density exists in a dark-energy component with negative pressure.
