TLDR
In this article, the authors present extensive forecasts for constraints on the dark energy equation of state and parameterized deviations from General Relativity, achievable with Stage III and Stage IV experimental programs that incorporate supernovae, BAO, weak lensing, and cosmic microwave background data.

LSST: from Science Drivers to Reference Design and Anticipated Data Products

Željko Ivezić, +312 more
- 15 May 2008 -
TL;DR: The LSST design is driven by four main science themes: probing dark energy and dark matter, taking an inventory of the solar system, exploring the transient optical sky, and mapping the Milky Way.
Journal ArticleDOI

The clustering of galaxies in the completed SDSS-III Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey: cosmological analysis of the DR12 galaxy sample

Shadab Alam, +90 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present cosmological results from the final galaxy clustering data set of the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey, part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III.
Journal ArticleDOI

The clustering of galaxies in the sdss-iii baryon oscillation spectroscopic survey: Baryon acoustic oscillations in the data release 9 spectroscopic galaxy sample

Lauren Anderson, +76 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a measurement of the cosmic distance scale from detections of the baryon acoustic oscillations in the clustering of galaxies from the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS), which is part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III (SDSS-III).
Journal ArticleDOI

$f(R,T)$ gravity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered a modified theory of gravity, where the gravitational Lagrangian is given by an arbitrary function of the Ricci scalar and of the trace of the stress-energy tensor.

Acoustic oscillations in the SDSS DR4 luminous red galaxy sample power spectrum

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors calculated the redshift-space power spectrum of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 4 (DR4) Luminous Red Galaxy (LRG) sample, finding evidence for a full series of acoustic features down to the scales of ~$0.2\,h\,{\rm Mpc}^{-1}.

Cosmology with photometrically-classified type ia supernovae from the sdss-ii supernova survey

TL;DR: In this paper, the cosmological analysis of 752 photometrically classified Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) obtained from the full Sloan Digital Sky Survey II (SDSS-II) Supernova (SN) Survey, supplemented with host-galaxy spectroscopy from the SDSSIII Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS), is presented.

Cosmological Constraints from the Red-Sequence Cluster Survey

TL;DR: In this paper, a cosmological analysis of a refined cluster catalog from the Red-Sequence Cluster Survey (RCS) images is presented, where the input cluster sample is derived from the deepest 72.07 deg2 of the RCS images, which probe to the highest redshift and lowest mass limits.

A GMBCG galaxy cluster catalog of 55,880 rich clusters from SDSS DR7

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a large catalog of optically selected galaxy clusters from the application of a new Gaussian Mixture Brightest Cluster Galaxy (GMBCG) algorithm to SDSS Data Release 7 data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Galaxy-galaxy weak lensing in SDSS: intrinsic alignments and shear calibration errors

TL;DR: In this article, the mean intrinsic shear at transverse separations of 30-446$h^{-1}$ kpc is constrained to be $-0.0062<\Delta\gamma<+0.066$ (99.9 per cent confidence), which limits contamination of the galaxy-galaxy lensing signal to at most 15$ per cent on these scales.
