TLDR
In this article, the authors present extensive forecasts for constraints on the dark energy equation of state and parameterized deviations from General Relativity, achievable with Stage III and Stage IV experimental programs that incorporate supernovae, BAO, weak lensing, and cosmic microwave background data.

LSST: from Science Drivers to Reference Design and Anticipated Data Products

Željko Ivezić, +312 more
- 15 May 2008 -
TL;DR: The LSST design is driven by four main science themes: probing dark energy and dark matter, taking an inventory of the solar system, exploring the transient optical sky, and mapping the Milky Way.

The clustering of galaxies in the completed SDSS-III Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey: cosmological analysis of the DR12 galaxy sample

Shadab Alam, +90 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present cosmological results from the final galaxy clustering data set of the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey, part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III.
Journal ArticleDOI

The clustering of galaxies in the sdss-iii baryon oscillation spectroscopic survey: Baryon acoustic oscillations in the data release 9 spectroscopic galaxy sample

Lauren Anderson, +76 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a measurement of the cosmic distance scale from detections of the baryon acoustic oscillations in the clustering of galaxies from the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS), which is part of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III (SDSS-III).
Journal ArticleDOI

$f(R,T)$ gravity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered a modified theory of gravity, where the gravitational Lagrangian is given by an arbitrary function of the Ricci scalar and of the trace of the stress-energy tensor.

Assembly bias in the clustering of dark matter haloes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a very large simulation of structure growth in a Λ cold dark matter (ΛCDM) universe to study assembly bias, the fact that the large-scale clustering of haloes of given mass varies significantly with their assembly history.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Measurement of the Angular Power Spectrum of the CMB from l = 100 to 400

TL;DR: In this article, the angular spectrum of the CMB was measured at 144 GHz from Cerro Toco in the Chilean altiplano, where the angular anisotropy of the spectrum was found to have the same properties as the spectrum at 30 and 40 GHz.

Linear redshift distortions: A Review

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed the measurements of β from linear redshift distortions published up to mid 1997 and reported the average and standard deviation of the reported values is β optical= 052 ± 026 for optically selected galaxies, and β IRAS = 077 + 022 for IRAS selected galaxies.

Improved Forecasts for the Baryon Acoustic Oscillations and Cosmological Distance Scale

TL;DR: In this article, the cosmological distance errors achievable using the baryonic acoustic oscillations as a standard ruler are presented. But they do not consider the Lagrangian displacement distribution.

The physics of microwave background anisotropies

TL;DR: The residual radiation from the Big Bang is observable as the cosmic microwave background as discussed by the authors, a near-uniform sea of photons with an average temperature of 2.7 K. Analysis of the physical mechanisms by which these anisotropies formed shows how they may be used to constrain fundamental cosmological parameters and provide insight into the origin of large scale structure in the Universe.
