TLDR
In this article, the authors present extensive forecasts for constraints on the dark energy equation of state and parameterized deviations from General Relativity, achievable with Stage III and Stage IV experimental programs that incorporate supernovae, BAO, weak lensing, and cosmic microwave background data.

Separating the intrinsic alignment signal and the lensing signal using self-calibration in photo-z surveys with KiDS450 and KV450 Data

TL;DR: In this paper, the self-calibration of IAs is used to measure the IA signal from the survey data and the photometric redshift information, and the measured signals are found to be in general agreement with the KiDS450 cosmic shear best fitting cosmology, for both lensing and IA measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Starlet ℓ1-norm for weak lensing cosmology

TL;DR: In this article, a summary statistic for weak lensing observables, higher than second order, was proposed, which is suitable for extracting non-Gaussian cosmological information.

Unraveling the nature of gravity through our clumpy universe

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new probe to test the nature of gravity at various redshifts through large-scale cosmological observations, using a void catalog extracted from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS, DR10) to trace the distribution of matter along the lines of sight.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analytic photometric redshift estimator for Type Ia supernovae from the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope

TL;DR: In this paper, a significantly improved version of the simple analytic photo-z estimator proposed by Wang and further developed by Wang, Narayan & Wood-Vasey was applied to 55 422 simulated SNe Ia generated using the SNANA package with the LSST filters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sampling the Probability Distribution of Type Ia Supernova Lightcurve Parameters in Cosmological Analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMCMC) was applied to SN Ia lightcurve fitting to obtain robust cosmological constraints from Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) data.

The relationship between infrared, optical, and ultraviolet extinction

TL;DR: In this article, the average extinction law over the 3.5 micron to 0.125 wavelength range was derived for both diffuse and dense regions of the interstellar medium. And the validity of the law over a large wavelength interval suggests that the processes which modify the sizes and compositions of grains are stochastic in nature.
