TLDR
In this article, the authors present extensive forecasts for constraints on the dark energy equation of state and parameterized deviations from General Relativity, achievable with Stage III and Stage IV experimental programs that incorporate supernovae, BAO, weak lensing, and cosmic microwave background data.

Simulations for single-dish intensity mapping experiments

TL;DR: In this article, spectral parametric fitting and principal component analysis (PCA) were used to clean the H I signal from the data, and it was shown that as long as the spectral variations over the band are slow compared to the channel width, the foreground cleaning method still works.

Palatini formulation of $f(R,T)$ gravity theory, and its cosmological implications

TL;DR: In this article, a nonminimal coupling between the Ricci scalar and the trace of the energy-momentum tensor is introduced, by considering the metric and the affine connection as independent field variables.

Neutron star merger GW170817 strongly constrains doubly coupled bigravity

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study the implications of the recent detection of gravitational waves emitted by a pair of merging neutron stars and their electromagnetic counterpart, events GW170817 and GRB1708 17A, on the viability of the doubly coupled bimetric models of cosmic evolution, where the two metrics couple directly to matter through a composite effective metric.

Joint analysis of cluster number counts and weak lensing power spectrum to correct for the super-sample covariance

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived the cross-correlation between the halo number counts and the weak lensing power spectrum, taking into account the super-sample covariance effect, which well matches the distributions measured from 1000 realizations for a Lambda-dominated cold dark matter model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unveiling the Dynamics of the Universe

TL;DR: Several observational probes are reviewed—including gravitational lensing, galaxy clusters, cosmic microwave background temperature and polarization, supernova and baryon acoustic oscillations measurements—and their relevance in constraining the cosmological description of the Universe is reviewed.

The relationship between infrared, optical, and ultraviolet extinction

TL;DR: In this article, the average extinction law over the 3.5 micron to 0.125 wavelength range was derived for both diffuse and dense regions of the interstellar medium. And the validity of the law over a large wavelength interval suggests that the processes which modify the sizes and compositions of grains are stochastic in nature.
