TLDR
In this article, the authors present extensive forecasts for constraints on the dark energy equation of state and parameterized deviations from General Relativity, achievable with Stage III and Stage IV experimental programs that incorporate supernovae, BAO, weak lensing, and cosmic microwave background data.

Scientific Synergy Between LSST and Euclid

TL;DR: This work explores Euclid/LSST synergy, ignoring the political issues associated with data access to focus on the scientific, technical, and financial benefits of coordination, and focuses primarily on dark energy cosmology, but also discusses galaxy evolution, transient objects, solar system science, and galaxy cluster studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

A search for sterile neutrinos with the latest cosmological observations

TL;DR: In this paper, a search for sterile neutrinos with the latest cosmological observations was conducted, and it was shown that the current observational data give a hint of the existence of massless sterile neutrons (as dark radiation) at the 1.44$\sigma level, and the consideration of an extra massless neutrino can indeed relieve the tension between observations and improve the cosmology fit.

DES Y1 Results: validating cosmological parameter estimation using simulated Dark Energy Surveys

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use two suites of simulations produced using different methods, which therefore provide independent tests of their cosmological parameter inference, and they are able to show with high confidence that any biases in the inferred S-8 = sigma(8)(Omega(m)/0.3)(0.5) and Omega(m) are smaller than the DES Y1 1 - sigma uncertainties.

On-Sky Measurements of the Transverse Electric Fields’ Effects in the Dark Energy Camera CCDs

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used data from the science verification period of the DES to characterize the effects of electric fields transverse to the surface of the CCDs, with diverse origins such as doping gradients, guard rings around the imaging area of the sensor, and physical stresses on the silicon lattice.

The relationship between infrared, optical, and ultraviolet extinction

TL;DR: In this article, the average extinction law over the 3.5 micron to 0.125 wavelength range was derived for both diffuse and dense regions of the interstellar medium. And the validity of the law over a large wavelength interval suggests that the processes which modify the sizes and compositions of grains are stochastic in nature.
