TLDR
In this article, a review of tree physiological responses to key environmental stress factors and their combinations are analyzed from seedlings to mature trees, concluding that combined stresses can influence survival of large trees even more than chronic exposure to a single predictable stress such as drought.

Combined Stresses in Forests

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the causes and consequences of combined stresses in forest ecosystems and discussed the significance of a range of abiotic and biotic factors responsible for various impacts on forest ecosystems, including long-term decline and episodic forest collapse.

Características funcionales que influyen en la respuesta a la sequía de las especies del género Quercus : variación inter- e intra-específica

TL;DR: Aranda et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the response of Quercus species to water stress in a macro-evolutionary frame and found that many species within the genus have a high level of intraspecific genetic variation in response to drought.

Reproduction strategies of the silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) at post-industrial sites.

TL;DR: In this paper, Betula pendula populations growing at different types of sites (zinc-lead heaps, coal mine heaps and unpolluted site) were evaluated for examined sites.

Elevated CO2 causes different growth stimulation, water- and nitrogen-use efficiencies, and leaf ultrastructure responses in two conifer species under intra- and interspecific competition

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of e[CO2] (700 p.p.m.) and plant-plant competition on plant growth, physiological and morphological traits, and leaf ultrastructure were investigated.

Climate change 2007: the physical science basis

TL;DR: The first volume of the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report as mentioned in this paper was published in 2007 and covers several topics including the extensive range of observations now available for the atmosphere and surface, changes in sea level, assesses the paleoclimatic perspective, climate change causes both natural and anthropogenic, and climate models for projections of global climate.
