Effects of Methanol Fraction from Leaves of Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi on Nociception and Spinal-Cord Oxidative Biomarkers in Rats with Neuropathic Pain
Taina Scheid,Maira Silmara de Moraes,Thiago Pereira Henriques,Ana Paula Konzen Riffel,Adriane Belló-Klein,Gilsane Lino Von Poser,Eduardo Miranda Ethur,Wania Aparecida Partata +7 more
TL;DR: The methanol fraction from leaves of S. terebinthifolius has an antinociceptive action with no toxic effects, and it affects oxidant biomarkers in the spinal cord of rats with CCI.
Protective nature of murraya koenigii leaves against hepatosuppression through antioxidant status in experimental rats
R. S. Gupta,Dharmendra Singh +1 more
TL;DR: M. koenigii leaves extract showing protection in liver, may prove promising as a rich source of free radical quenchers, which have been mediated through hepatocyte membrane stabilizing activity alongwith the reduction of fat metabolism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary sesame seed and its lignan increase both ascorbic acid concentration in some tissues and urinary excretion by stimulating biosynthesis in rats.
TL;DR: Dietary sesame seed and its lignan stimulate ascorbic acid synthesis as a result of the induction of UGT1A and the 2B-mediated metabolism of sesame ligna in rats, and enhances antioxidative activity in the tissues by elevating the levels of two antioxidant vitamins, vitamin C and E.
Book ChapterDOI
Influence of Abnormal Thyroid Hormone Changes on Lipid Peroxidation and Antioxidant Imbalance in Hypothyroid and Hyperthyroid Patients
TL;DR: In this paper, the free radical scavenging activity, lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant status in patients with hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism were investigated and it was shown that thyroid gland plays a central role in generating generalized oxidative stress in diseased condition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of chloroquine and some other antimalarials on the immune mechanism in experimental animals
TL;DR: The immunosuppressant activity of chloroquine may explain its efficacy in various types of immune disorders.
