Effect of chrysin on hepatoprotective and antioxidant status in d-galactosamine-induced hepatitis in rats
Ganesan Pushpavalli,Panneerselvam Kalaiarasi,Chinnadurai Veeramani,Kodukkur Viswanathan Pugalendi +3 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that chrysin acts as a hepatoprotective and antioxidant agent against d-galactosamine-induced hepatotoxicity and reduces glutathione, vitamin C and vitamin E.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential rapid analysis of ascorbic acid and ascorbic acid 2-sulfate by dinitrophenylhydrazine method.
TL;DR: The differential oxidation of AA and AAS with 2, 6-dinitrophenolindophenol (2,6-Dye) and KBrO 3 and the determination of the osazone produced with the original method by Roe and Kuether are concerned.
Journal ArticleDOI
Respiration and glucose oxidation in human and guinea pig leukocytes: comparative studies
TL;DR: A comparison has been made of the metabolic shifts in human and guinea pig leukocytes when they phagocytize and enzymes potentially responsible for these phenomena have been compared in each species.

Selenium modulates dynamics of antioxidative defence expression, photosynthetic attributes and secondary metabolites to mitigate chromium toxicity in Brassica juncea L. plants
Neha Handa,Neha Handa,Sukhmeen Kaur Kohli,Anket Sharma,Ashwani Kumar Thukral,Renu Bhardwaj,Elsayed Fathi Abd_Allah,Abdulaziz A. Alqarawi,Parvaiz Ahmad,Parvaiz Ahmad +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the stress protective role of selenium (Se) against chromium toxicity in Brassica juncea L. has been investigated and shown that Se is able to protect the plants by restoring growth, reducing the oxidative damage (low levels of superoxide anions and hydrogen peroxide), and strengthened the enzymatic and nonenzymatic defence systems of B.juncea plants.

Protective effects of dietary cyanidin 3-O-β-D-glucoside on liver ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats
TL;DR: This study evaluated whether feeding C3G suppresses oxidative injury to the liver caused by hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (I/R), which was used as a model for oxidative stress and indicates that orally administered C3g suppresses I/R-induced oxidative damage and suggests that C2G functions as a potent antioxidant in vivo under oxidative stress.
