Guidelines and recommendations on yeast cell death nomenclature

Didac Carmona-Gutierrez, +93 more
- 01 Jan 2018 -
TL;DR: Unified criteria for the definition of accidental, regulated, and programmed forms of cell death in yeast based on a series of morphological and biochemical criteria are proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

The antifungal plant defensin RsAFP2 from radish induces apoptosis in a metacaspase independent way in Candida albicans

TL;DR: The data point to the existence of at least two different types of caspases or caspase‐like proteases in C. albicans, the first report on the induction of apoptosis with concomitant casp enzyme activation by a defensin in this pathogen.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combining Biocontrol Agents with Chemical Fungicides for Integrated Plant Fungal Disease Control

TL;DR: An integrated approach combining BCAs with fungicides, which is the focus of this review, is put forward as a way to reduce the fungicide doses to manage plant diseases and thereby their residue on harvested crops.
Journal ArticleDOI

DmAMP1, an antifungal plant defensin from dahlia (Dahlia merckii), interacts with sphingolipids from Saccharomyces cerevisiae

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that DmAMP1 interacts directly with sphingolipids isolated from S. cerevisiae and that this interaction is enhanced in the presence of equimolar concentrations of ergosterol.
