Abstract: A compact size wideband circularly polarized (CP) 2-port multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna is designed for the fifth generation (5G) region under the sub-6 GHz band The presented antenna has (≤ − 10 dB) impedance bandwidth of 900 MHz (33–42 GHz) and has 100% 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth The antenna covers the potential 5G band ranging from 33 to 38 GHz having left-handed circular polarization characteristics To validate performance attributes of the MIMO antenna designed various diversity parameters such as envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), total active reflection coefficient, and diversity gain are calculated The low envelope correlation coefficient (ECC < 010) and the isolation between the antenna elements greater than 15 dB justify the acceptance of the proposed design as a MIMO antenna The proposed design exhibits good agreement between the simulated and the measured results

TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid approach of neural network and fuzzy logic theory has been applied to develop the fuzzy expert system to predict the kerf widths and kerf deviation, which has been compared with the experimental data and found appropriate.
Abstract: Laser cutting is an advanced thermal cutting process of complex nature. It's process behavior drastically changes with slight variation in processing conditions. The prediction of process performance becomes more difficult if cutting materials have non-favorable optical and thermal properties. Titanium (Ti) alloys are characterized by their low thermal conductivity and high chemical reactivity at elevated temperature and hence difficult to cut by laser. It has been found that complex and nonlinear behavior of manufacturing process can better be dealt with the application of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The aim of present research is to develop a fuzzy expert system for prediction of the laser cutting process behavior of Ti alloy (Ti-6Al-4 V) sheet. A hybrid approach of neural network and fuzzy logic theory has been applied to develop the fuzzy expert system to predict the kerf widths and kerf deviation. The predicted results have been compared with the experimental data and found appropriate. The e...

TL;DR: In this paper, a fungal strain Penicillium chrysogenum SNP5 isolated from grease contaminated soil was reconnoitered for the production of bio-surfactant.
Abstract: The current work is enlightened about a cost effective bioprocess using one factor at a time approach for the production of bio-surfactant through solid state fermentation. A fungal strain Penicillium chrysogenum SNP5 isolated from grease contaminated soil was reconnoitered for the production of bio-surfactant. Various physiochemical parameters i.e., substrate composition, nitrogen supplements, extraction media and pH were optimized in order to optimized the production in terms of emulsification index and oil displacement assay. Maximum oil displacement area produced using grease waste and wheat bran (1:1 w/w), waste cooking oil and wheat bran (1:1 v/w) as a substrate were 3.5 cm and 5 cm, respectively. Whereas, considered values for emulsification activity with oil and diesel were 43% and 22% during optimization of substrate composition. Variable ratios of grease waste and wheat bran were capable to enhance the emulsification activity with oil and diesel up to 45% and 24% in presence of grease and wheat bran (1.5:1). The strain also showed enhancement of emulsification activity 45% and 23% with oil and diesel respectively to utilized yeast extract as a nitrogen source and the highest emulsification activity 38% in diesel, 47% in oil and oil displacement 5.5 cm was found at pH 8 with grease and wheat bran as a substrate. Preliminary characterizations by thin layer chromatography showed that the bio-surfactant was lipopeptide in nature and was also confirmed through FTIR analysis. Metabolization of industrial grease waste through solid state fermentation has never been reported before for the production of biosurfactants therefore would be applicable in petroleum and biodiesel industry. The partially purified biosurfactants was further investigated for antimicrobial activity and enhanced oil recovery. It displayed effective zones of inhibition against both gram +ve (1.67 cm) and gram –ve (1.93 cm) as well as 16.5% enhanced recovery of oil. Both results also give a positive support to its role in pharmaceuticals as well as in petroleum and oil industry.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of metal particle dispersion in the dielectric matrix was studied in the frequency range of 2-18 GHz and the results indicated that Zn dispersed SiC composites exhibit higher value in comparison to pristine SiC. And the maximum EM wave absorption behavior was realized for the 6-wt% (equivalent to 2.8-vol%) Zn-dispersion with minimum RL value of −−49.

TL;DR: The two-dimensional (2-D) passivity performance analysis problem of 2-D digital filters in the Fornasini-Marchesini local state-space (FM LSS) form is considered to establish a new criterion in terms of linear matrix inequality such that the 2- D digital filtersIn the FM LSS form ensure 1-D passivityperformance with a storage function.
Abstract: This brief considers the two-dimensional (2-D) passivity performance analysis problem of 2-D digital filters in the Fornasini–Marchesini local state–space (FM LSS) form. The purpose is to establish a new criterion in terms of linear matrix inequality such that the 2-D digital filters in the FM LSS form ensure 2-D passivity performance with a storage function. Moreover, this brief reveals that the 2-D digital filters exhibit the 2-D finite-gain performance under the proposed criterion. Without interference, the criterion guarantees the asymptotic stability of 2-D digital filters. An application example to a 2-D low-pass filter is given to demonstrate the usefulness of the presented passivity criterion. The criteria in this brief and in a previous work of one of the authors, as a whole, give methodical results for the 2-D passive removal of the overflow oscillation of 2-D digital filters with external inferences.
