TL;DR: In this article, a questionnaire was distributed among physicians, dentists and nurses who received a COVID-19 vaccine to explore the side effects they encountered after the first or the second dose of one of three vaccines namely: AstraZeneca Vaxzevria (AZ), Pfizer-BioNTeck (PB), and SinoPharm (SP) vaccines.

TL;DR: Two algorithms to enhance the adaptive-head clustering algorithm are proposed, namely, the improved adaptive- head and improved prediction-based adaptive head, which uses dynamic clustering to achieve impressive tracking quality and energy efficiency through optimally choosing the cluster head that participates in the tracking process.
Abstract: In recent years, there has been a growing interest in wireless sensor networks because of their potential usage in a wide variety of applications such as remote environmental monitoring and target tracking. Target tracking is a typical and substantial application of wireless sensor networks. Generally, target tracking aims basically at estimating the location of the target while it is moving within an area of interest and consequently report it to the base station in a timely manner. However, achieving a high accuracy of tracking together with energy efficiency in target tracking algorithms is extremely challenging. In this article, we propose two algorithms to enhance the adaptive-head clustering algorithm, formerly lunched, namely, the improved adaptive-head and improved prediction-based adaptive head. Particularly, the first algorithm uses dynamic clustering to achieve impressive tracking quality and energy efficiency through optimally choosing the cluster head that participates in the tracking process. On the other hand, the second algorithm incorporates a prediction mechanism to the first proposed algorithm. Our proposed algorithms are simulated using Matlab considering various network conditions. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithms can accurately track a target, even when random moving speeds are considered and consume much less energy, when compared with the previous algorithm for target tracking, which in turn prolong the network lifetime much more.

TL;DR: During COVID-19, social distancing interventions should focus on increasing physical activity levels among younger adults, men and those with low annual household income.
Abstract: Objective To investigate the levels and correlates of physical activity during COVID-19 social distancing in a sample of the UK public. Methods This paper presents analyses of data from a cross-sectional study. Levels of physical activity during COVID-19 social distancing were self-reported. Participants also reported on sociodemographic and clinical data. The association between several factors and physical activity was studied using regression models. Results Nine hundred and eleven adults were included (64.0% were women and 50.4% of the participants were aged 35–64 years). 75.0% of the participants met the physical activity guidelines during social distancing. Meeting these guidelines during social distancing was significantly associated with sex (reference: male; female: OR=1.60, 95% CI 1.10 to 2.33), age (reference: 18–34 years; ≥65 years: OR=4.11, 95% CI 2.01 to 8.92), annual household income (reference: Conclusion During COVID-19, social distancing interventions should focus on increasing physical activity levels among younger adults, men and those with low annual household income. It should be noted in the present sample that women and younger adults are over-represented.

TL;DR: The findings demonstrated that the hypolipidaemic effects of G. biloba extract can be attributed to the inhibition of PL by, at least in part, terpene trilactones.
Abstract: The prevalence of obesity is increasing at an alarming rate, but, unfortunately, only a few drugs are currently available on the market. In the present study, the methanolic extract of Ginkgo biloba L. (Ginkgoaceae) was investigated as an inhibitor of pancreatic lipase (PL) in an attempt to explain its hypolipidaemic activity. In vitro assay of G. biloba leaves extract revealed a substantial PL inhibition activity (IC50 = 16.5 µg/mL). Further investigation was performed by employing theoretical docking simulations and experimental testing to uncover the active constituents responsible for G. biloba anti-lipase activity. Virtually, terpene trilactones, including ginkgolides and bilobalide, were found to fit within the binding pocket of PL via several attractive interactions with key amino acids. Experimentally, ginkgolides A, B, and bilobalide were found to inhibit PL significantly (IC50 = 22.9, 90.0, and 60.1 µg/mL, respectively). Our findings demonstrated that the hypolipidaemic effects of G. biloba extr...

TL;DR: A chelating ion exchange phenol-formaldehyde polymer, poly(salicylaldoxime 3,5-diylmethylene) was synthesized and characterized as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A chelating ion-exchange phenol-formaldehyde polymer, poly(salicylaldoxime 3,5-diylmethylene) was synthesized and characterized. The sorption properties of the chelate-forming resin towards various divalent ions (Mg 2+ , Ca 2+ , Ni 2+ , Cu 2+ , Zn 2+ and Cd 2+ ) were studied by a static batch equilibration technique as a function of pH and contact time. The resin exhibited high selectivity towards Cu 2+ ions and showed fast rates of metal ion uptake, particularly for Cu 2+ which experienced >90% uptake in less than 1 h. In a dynamic column operation, it was demonstrated that the resin can be used for effective removal of copper ions from aqueous solutions.
