TL;DR: The modulatory effects of lead toxicity by Spirulina fusiformis (Oscillatoreaceae) were observed on the testes of Swiss albino mice at a dose of 800 mg /kg body weight and a significant enhancement in the survival time was observed in the pre‐ and post‐ treated Spiruline group compared with the control group.
Abstract: The modulatory effects of lead toxicity by Spirulina fusiformis (Oscillatoreaceae) were observed on the testes of Swiss albino mice at a dose of 800 mg /kg body weight. The Spirulina fusiformis was non-toxic at the dose given. A significant enhancement in the survival time was observed in the pre- and post- treated Spirulina group compared with the control (lead treated) group. Lead induced toxicity was also reduced in terms of testes weight, animal weight, tubular diameter in the pre Spirulina treated group. The modulatory effects of Spirulina may be attributed to the presence of the antioxidants, β-carotene and SOD enzyme. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

TL;DR: Dose-dependent degenerative changes in the testicular weights, sperm count, later stages of spermatogenesis and Leydig cells are observed in testis of rats treated with steroidal fraction of seeds of A. precatorius.
Abstract: Dose-dependent degenerative changes in the testicular weights, sperm count, later stages of spermatogenesis and Leydig cells are observed in testis of rats treated with steroidal fraction of seeds of A. precatorius. These are correlated with the dose-dependent decrease in the enzyme activity of 3 alpha, 3 beta, 17 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenases, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, sorbitol dehydrogenase and leucine aminopeptidase. The steroidal fraction may also exert its influence indirectly at the pituitary level by a feedback mechanism, leading to decrease in production and release of testosterone which results in significant alterations in the testis.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported on the mid-rapidity mass spectrum of di-electrons and cross sections of pseudoscalar and vector mesons via e(+) e(-) decays, from root s = 200 GeV p + p collisions, measured by the large-acceptance experiment STAR at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider.
Abstract: We report on the mid-rapidity mass spectrum of di-electrons and cross sections of pseudoscalar and vector mesons via e(+) e(-) decays, from root s = 200 GeV p + p collisions, measured by the large-acceptance experiment STAR at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The ratio of the di-electron continuum to the combinatorial background is larger than 10% over the entire mass range. Simulations of di-electrons from light-meson decays and heavy-flavor decays (charmonium and open charm correlation) are found to describe the data. The extracted omega -> e(+) e(-) invariant yields are consistent with previous measurements. The mid-rapidity yields (dN/dy) of phi and J/psi are extracted through their di-electron decay channels and are consistent with the previous measurements of phi -> K+ K- and J/psi -> e(+) e(-). Our results suggest a new upper limit of the branching ratio of the eta -> e(+) e(-) of 1.7 x 10(-5) at the 90% confidence level.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the structural, morphological, and hydrogenation properties of Mg-X wt% ZrCrCo composites and found that the presence of alloy phase greatly enhances the sorption kinetics even at lower temperature.
