In this paper, the authors present a detailed description of the physics that can be addressed through N* structure studies in exclusive meson electroproduction, including recent advances in reaction theory for extracting N* electrocouplings from meson electrodes.
Abstract
Studies of the structure of excited baryons are key factors to the N* program at Jefferson Lab (JLab). Within the first year of data taking with the Hall B CLAS12 detector following the 12 GeV upgrade, a dedicated experiment will aim to extract the N* electrocouplings at high photon virtualities Q2. This experiment will allow exploration of the structure of N* resonances at the highest photon virtualities ever achieved, with a kinematic reach up to Q2 = 12 GeV2. This high-Q2 reach will make it possible to probe the excited nucleon structures at distance scales ranging from where effective degrees of freedom, such as constituent quarks, are dominant through the transition to where nearly massless bare-quark degrees of freedom are relevant. In this document, we present a detailed description of the physics that can be addressed through N* structure studies in exclusive meson electroproduction. The discussion includes recent advances in reaction theory for extracting N* electrocouplings from meson electropro...

Images of the Origin of Mass

TL;DR: In this paper, the bound-state bounding-state problem in continuum QCD has been studied and a small part of the progress made with Dyson Schwinger equations is highlighted, including opportunities provided by precision experimental studies of the (far) valence region.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented parametrizations of the electric and Coulomb quadrupole form factors that are compatible with the analytic constraints at the pseudothreshold (Siegert's theorem).

First Results on Nucleon Resonance Electroexcitation Amplitudes from $ep\to e'\pi^+\pi^-p'$ Cross Sections at $W$ from 1.4-1.7 GeV and $Q^2$ from 2.0-5.0 GeV$^2$

TL;DR: In this article , the electroexcitation amplitudes of the N(1440)1/2+ , N(1520)3/2+) and N(1600) 3/2 + resonances were obtained from the CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab within the range of invariant mass of the final state hadrons from 1.4-1.7 GeV for photon virtualities.

A covariant model for the γ∗N → N∗(1520) reaction

TL;DR: In this article, the covariant spectator quark model was applied to the study of the electromagnetic structure of the N ∗ (1520) state (J P = 3 − ), an important resonance from the second resonance region in both spacelike and timelike regimes.

Masses of positive- and negative-parity hadron ground-states, including those with heavy quarks.

TL;DR: In this article, a symmetry-preserving treatment of a vector$\times$vector contact interaction is used to compute spectra of ground-state mesons, their partner diquark correlations, and their decay constants.

The Large N limit of superconformal field theories and supergravity

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the large-N limits of certain conformal field theories in various dimensions include in their Hilbert space a sector describing supergravityon the product of anti-de Sitter spacetimes, spheres, and other compact manifolds.

Dynamical Model of Elementary Particles Based on an Analogy with Superconductivity. II

TL;DR: In this paper, a superconductive solution describing the proton-neutron doublet is obtained from a nonlinear spinor field Lagrangian, and the pions of finite mass are found as nucleon-antinucleon bound states by introducing a small bare mass into the Lagrangians which otherwise possesses a certain type of the ∆-ensuremath{gamma{5}$ invariance.
